hey guys im looking into putting a BOV on my 335i and im leaning towards the HKS SQV3 lemme know what you guys think and what you have. thanks

The Synapse and HKS are my number one sellers. Probably 60/40 for Synapse. Nothing but good reviews about both.

I have the RSD Polished Charge Pipe with an HKS SQV3 from Bavarian Exclusive paired with the Polished Injen DCI and love it! Looks, performs and sounds great! Get it man.

i looked into the synapse and i dont know its just not for me the hks has a lot nicer of a sound imo

A lot ricier sound IMO. But if thats what you like, go for it.

Hey all. Has anyone experienced any problems with their hks bov? I got one installed and it was working fine until I had to take my car into the dealer for a fuel pump recall and software flash. Ever since that day my bov doesn't act the same. For instance now I have hit pretty high Rpms to even get a little whoosh sound. Also when I hit high Rpms on the highway it hesitates to blow off. Any ideas?

I Love it. No other BOV sounds like it, it sounds like what a BOV should sound like.

Get it. Synapse isn't bad, but the sound is questionable IMO for a BOV.

Haven't had ANY problems with my HKS Bov so far

I don't know if there is any correlation, but I had a greddy type S BOV and that thing would blow off very easily. It would even blow off during revs in neutral.

I had my software updated and with no tune, it would only blow off after I went WOT. Otherwise, it would be very silent.

I never thought of the software update as a factor. I always thought it was the BOV. It would be interesting to hear if others have experienced this as well.

I have been super happy with my Stett CP with Tial BOV. No "ricey" sounds, as you guys were talking about, no squeeks, etc.. just straight, powerful air.

Tial FTW for me...

Bimmertt,

Yea it looks like your running into the same problem I am. I'm confused myself as to how the software has anything to do with the bov.

Some of the guys I know were telling me the only way to really fix it is to chip your computer and tune yourself.

You do know that the most recent software upgrade for our cars caused us to shed some Hp?

I like both a bit but not enough to choose. I will prolly go with synapse. The HKS is alright but i'd have to get the purple insert. The HKS w/ purple insert kinda sounds like a mix of synapse and HKS. At low boost/normal driving you get the air sound with maybe a little high pitch sound. At WOT/high boost you should get a quick airsound followed by mostly high pitch noise.

I don't know anyone with the insert so I really have no idea how it sounds on our cars.
