I run LEDs as well. SO much brighter than the halogens (which is amazing) and nice spill pattern.

I coded out the bulb check with BMWhat and also coded the car to run the fogs and angel eyes as DRLs.. Not sure if I am going to keep it that way but I like it right now.

If one to run an HID kit, make sure you run it through a proper relayed and fused wiring harness. Ballasts require a lot of current at start-up and factory fog light wiring obviously was not meant to handle those kind of spikes.

On the other hand, why would anyone want to increase their foreground lighting so much. Your distance vision will suffer significantly.

These go for around $100 for a pair... why would you spend so much on bulbs when you can get an LED or HID kit for a buck more?

I agree.
Increasing near the car lighting increases whats called self-blinding. Your nightvision auffers because yoir eyes adjust for the brighter light near the car, but not for the lower amount of light at the edge of the illuminated field.

As amullo has posted, the more foreground lighting you have the worse you shall see at a distance. Your eyes focus on where the light is and the brighter will be your fog lights the more your eyes will be drawn there. This is why factory fogs go off when you flip brights on. Further to that, if you examine the internal design of some of the HID projectors, you shall notice that they have foreground limiting shields to reduce lighting right under your nose. This is a popular mod for a lot of people as some want to match the colour to their HIDs, some just want an update or a refresh. But from the quality of useful lighting on your car, this is completely useless. Try running a bunch of 2000mcd leds in your dash lights and you will know what I mean.

Philips Lumileds Luxeon M LED Fog Lights

I am running LED headlights in my Fogs using Philips Luxeon M LEDs with NO ERROR and no coding out required.

I don't have a link as yet as I have put a few different products together to make them error free. It's taken quite a bit of mucking about to get to that stage as I wanted something that did not require coding.

I use them as DDLs in the country for added safety. No fog in my part of the world. I want to also replace the inner flashes with high power LEDs and code them into my high beam bi-xenons though not sure if it is possible? I also have some brighter custom Angel Eyes I am working on with a new CREE LED which is plug and play. I wasn't going to post anything until I'd properly road tested it but here you go.

I measured the lumens and they are 3 x the brightness of the OEM 55W halogen bulb.

Though because the fog light reflector is designed for the halogen, the projected brightness of the LED is only slightly more.

See night shot, fogs are almost as bright as the Xenons and can even drive around with them as backups

And night time beam of the Fog Lights Only, note the car is sloping slightly downwards at front so they are a little dipped:

Here is a comparison of the OEM halogen with the LED Fog I took a while back during noon daylight:
