Shiny Black Grill On Black E92

My Car Is Black Not White But Still Thought I Would Show You The Grill. I Think Shiny Black Looks Really Good On White!

loved my matte black grill on the E46, but prefer the gloss "BMW performance" look on the E9x.
It depends a lot on the car.. black and AW cars can pull off either quite easily. For other coloured cars matte grills can look a bit cheap.

I went with the gloss black bmw performance ones. The black chrome was too shiny for me.

bumpin an old thread, but need everyone's opinion...

what looks best on BSM? right now I am leaning towards gloss black over matte. I am also thinking about just buying color matched grills.

I think a lot of it depends on the look you are going for. Matte tends to give the car a harder, meaner look than the gloss. The gloss tends to be, i dont want to say classier because that sounds snotty, polished, refined look. A litttle flashier than matte but not bling. Does that make sense to anyone?

The problem is that some manufacturers' matte black looks extremely plasticky. My matte grills also looked recessed compared to the OEM chrome; I figured it was because the fitment was off, but it could also just be an illusion due to the color. Either way, I think I'm really going to like the BMW Performance ones from Tischer. I'll post pics after install today.

Cool, would like to see the pics. I got my gloss black from a company that painted over the factory ones so they do chip once in a while. I was thinking of getting a set of performance ones or now I might get the black chrome.
Are your black ones that look recessed factory or aftermarket? The factory ones that are oem chrome are actually 2 piece, maybe they are not put together correctly on yours and that is why they are recessed.

For a black car, I suggest the matte to provide some contrast. IMO, the painted grills blend in too much on a dark car.

here are my DIY matte black grills, okay pix u can say...I like the contrast...especially with the scoops. Anything to get rid of the chrome shiny grills. Its just what ever you want IMHO will look best...anything is better than chrome. I'm planning on doing a matte black roof and possibly a matte black hamann lip. btw these pix are before my custom matte black corners which really make the front pop...I still need to take pix of those. I just love them.
