DTEC H8 fm e92 lighting
Got those for around $179 if I recall correctly.
I had an online chat with the e92 guy while placing my order and he assured me that I will get an installation guide. 'we r professional' is what he kept saying. Surely no install guide was included and my package arrives by US mail in a wrinkled envelop. Weather was still cold when I did the install so i struggled a bit to disconnect stock lamp in a very tight space. I had to consult multiple DYI threads that were not 100% accurate due to the various kits on the markets and car models.... I am neutral to the results, the outer rings are surely less brighter than the inner rings, also overall light output is less than stock. (don't care how many watts they claim, the stock yellow lamp illuminated way better as I enter my garage). I emailed e92 lighting expressing my concerns and also requesting a return, surely never got a response. If you are considering this upgrade, consider other options even if they are little prices as you may get better results especially on the outer rings. I will be posting pics and possibly a DYI soon.

Different H7 lowbeam clip type?
Guys, I hope I am not thread hijacking here.
Problem. EVERY DIY video and article shows the "clip" type fastener for e90 328 H7 lowbeam. Mine is a like the second image. Were certain months of production different? And how in the hell do I get that out? Mine

You have a E90 Pre-lci Xenon. You just pull the bulb out, it takes a decent amount of force. Its one of the worst bulb holder designs ever!

All our pictures of e90 lci with xenon here and these are with our 40W. We have a 60W even brighter. All the pictures are of customers cars. So no biases or tricky editing/photoshopping. As with any lighting system on the BMW's they must be viewed from more then 20 feet away at eye level. Even with the factory bulbs if you look at them too close, too high, or weird angles they will not illuminate the rings in full. By no accident when people view your lights on the road they will be in excess of 20 feet away and nearly at eye level. The function and produce light just like the factory bulbs. The factory halogen however have a bit more contrast to them as they are a dull brown on a chrome housing which contrast very differently then a white crisp light in the broad day light. From the factory the BMW angel eyes do not disperse light 100% evenly from inner and outer rings. This is an impossible task to ask from these factory angel eyes as they are inherently flawed from the factory. The fiber optics that omit light to the outer rings is a greater distance then the inner ring and by no surprise the outer rings cannot and will not ever be the same brightness as the inner rings. Last but not least, day time output, there is minimal contrast when you have a white bulb directly in the sun. I need to say all of this because peoples expectations of what a simple plug and play LED can do in a flawed housing with no contrast in color is a lot to ask for. Keep in mind the notation on all our angel eyes as some guys tend to have above normal expectations. NOTE: These lights are not intended nor were they designed to match the late model angel eyes found on newer BMW's. They are simply a replacement and upgrade over stock. As with all plug and play options they are limited in their abilities to produce vivid daytime output and even dispersion between inner and outer rings. To match the late model BMW's output, color and light equality between inner and outer rings you must purchase custom angel eyes which vary in price from $500 up to $1000. We do not offer custom upgrades at this time. Last edited by Jeff@TopGearSolutions; 04-21-2014 at 11:27 AM.. |

Thanks to you for replying. I had read somewhere where it said to "Pull out hard" I wanted to check before I grabbed a prong with needle nose pliers! haha. And to make matters worse you cant even see where youre grabbing. Looks like you would move a tab up or down but if it comes straight out I will try that. I assume putting back in you just push forward?

I checked again last 15 pages of this thread and I didn't found any picture of E90 LCI (from different positions) with 40 or 60W LEDs at sunny day, except this on from your shop: http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-1327016...0_2272_7974432 But this picture is with xenon ON and look very very bright I'm confused because I previously order from other shops similar high power cree LED and they were not bright half of that. Of course I could make similar picture from similar angle view, but at sunny day and on the road it's not bright...Now I'm using GP Thunder 8500K v2. The problem is that e90 LCI as far as I tested is the most problematical headlamp for changing angel eyes from bulbs to LED -> we all want outer ring to be "white" (for example I put my previous 20W CREE to e92 and they were very very good-almost same as on your pictures). Also the second problem here is, as far as I notice is that resistor which is very hot inside of headlamp can possible cause a fire at hot summer days ? |

Fire's? We've sold several hundred of these and no reported fires yet over the past 4 or so years. 20W would be a bit out dated. We stopped selling those years ago. You would find noticeable improvements in our 60W version in comparison but ultimately it will be impossible to see even light dispersion between inner and outer rings as mentioned previously. It seems like a custom application may be something you are looking for if you are insisting on 100% even light distribution between inner and outer rings as well as the most daytime light output. |

got my Lux H8 V4 - Color Adjustable AEs installed and thought I'd share my comparison against stock.
Decided to go with 6300K temperature. Love 'em. Slight knuckle-banger installation especially with a large hand but got 'em swapped out in about 15min and I'm really happy with the new crisp look. Matt |
