Same here, no more 30FF thanks to new vacuum line, Pierburg new spec boost solenoids and fixed a leaking diverter valve. Car is boosting better than ever. Can recommend this to everyone who is not hitting boost target, even without 30 FF code. Parts are not expensive and are a easy DIY.

+1, replaced the water pump/thermostat and it did not leave me stranded. I got to it before. No issues here and loving every minute! Starts right up in Michigan with these -10 degree days lately and goes right through the snow with no issues!

Well, at the risk of Jinxing it....
I've been running strong since the turbo replacement. I think maybe a year, and 30K miles since all that work. Love this car!

Laid down a fat 625whp/630wtq @ 30psi with my new setup. 560/520 @ 23 psi on the daily map.
MMP 3's, 335is clutch, Port Injection. And we just started tuning Can't wait for final numbers.

Nice numbers! Smart daily numbers too, she should last a while like that. The 335is clutch won't last too long on the 6+ map, should be good for a while on the 560. I ran about 20k on mine just a little over that power level before she started to give up the ghost.

Feels good to be running at 100%, not taking it for granted , installed my accessport and it really brought out my need for a walnut blast. Went into get it blasted and since they had the intake manifold off they said it would be a good time to do my oil filter housing gasket... 2k later I'm running in top shape. My bank account on the other hand is not.

It's always healthy to stay positive and look forward to that light at the end of the tunnel, however bleak things may look. It's been almost two years of trouble free driving since fixing the limp mode issue I had that drove me nuts, which was fixed by replacing the DME. But while chasing the issue, I replaced /reconditioned nearly everything in the engine - rebuilt turbos, replaced all sensors including the O2s, HPFP, fuel filter, new valve covers, cleaned the intake, changed spark plugs. I also replaced the head unit with dynavin n6 and also installed the OEM alarm. I also completely overhauled the suspension. Car has been running fantastic!!!

FWIW mines been running great for a few months now. I’ve had it for a year and this is the longest “trouble free” stretch I’ve had. “Trouble free” because I’ve got an anti trap error with the rear passenger window and a vcg leak...but I think I’d have those issues n54 or not...

Lmfao everytime I turn around this fkn car has me. Now at only 75k one owver car before me.... in the last 19,000kms had clutch go, oil pan gasket, vanos solenoids, shocks, serp belt, HPFP, both cats, control arms and now its the VCG new vac lines are needed. N54 is a nightmare. But I do like the car that being said.

Sometimes small issues but, knock on wood, I haven't had any major issues to this point and two years of ownership. I've kept up with maintenance and am at 127k miles.

But the truth....N54 iBMW did a shit job of externals on this engine. Yes strong engine with lots of go fast goodies. But complete shit in other ways. The kind of engine you need to be able to fix yourself. Then... not so bad.

I've had mine for 5 yrs... bought it with 72k miles, now 140k miles, fbo. I do all the maintenance and upgrades myself and kept up with the issues. Replaced pretty much everything that needed replaced other than the engine eternals. As long as you do what needs to be done to keep up with the inevitable issues AND do preventative maintenance. you'll be fine. My car is very dependable. Never broke down. I went into limp mode once when my water pump went out at 100k miles but I made it home and changed out the pump in my garage. It drives like new at 140k miles... knock on wood, lol.

Now I have done a major service and replaced all the common issues and added a few mods (tranny service, oils, index 12s, lpfp, hpfp, fuel lines, turbos + install kit, inlets, outlets, fmic, dv's, cp, occ, dci, vanos, water pump, coolant tank, belt, tensions, coolant, OFHG, pan gasket, valve cover gasket, plugs gapped, n55 coils, thermostat, Boost solenoids, all vac lines, walnut blasted, inlet gaskets, engine mounts, ps flush, dumps, tmod, xhp stage 3, custom mhd) my car feels amazing and punching out 379rwkw with 0 timing corrections amd only 50%wgdc on 98 running a super safe tune I couldn't be happier with this beast... yes I did all the work myself, yes it was painful but at least I know it was done right.

tisdrew, how is that 335is clutch holding up? Asking as anything over 500 whp would tax the snot out of that clutch.

Still on the same clutch. I got some PR coils a little while back, beginning tuning with those and hope to up the boost if the clutch and dmfw will take it. Had one pull on a map where I believe the clutch slipped, but I can't be certain as I have not reproduced it. virtualdyno is saying these tune revisions are hitting mid 500s for wheel torque for whatever that's worth.

My 09 n54 335i 6AT has run great for the last year. Now with 100k miles. I started messing around with downshifting and throwing flames which caused me to brake a wire in my floor shifter(the wire that controls sport and manual mode). Easy fix though.

My 107k mile 6AT N54 is running great! I've done a slew of maintenance this year including plugs/coils, ofgh, alternator, leaky radiator hose, valve cover, Vanos solenoids, belt/pullies, control arm, walnut blast, and hpfp. I had a 2A15 DMTL code that went away after changing the hpfp a few weeks ago . Oil pan gasket and coolant/trans fluid change are next on the list..
