I would rather pay a flat fee now then a $400 ticket for expired registration and a forced trip to the ref ontop of the fees I have to pay to fix it.

there are a bunch of dudes in sac selling used hpfps, take a look and the install only takes like 1 hr max. alot better to just pay the 300 for one then 60 for smog then look for some shady dude and pay about that much maybe more then still have the failing pump

I don't know if I trust a used HPFP considering this is the second one for this car at 90k miles. It's not really a money problem, rather time. DMV won't let me renew my registration without the smog and this is my only transportation at the moment (moms car got hit, lent her my truck). I surely don't want to spend $300 on a used hpfp, have it fail within 10k miles and then spend another $600 on a repair I could have remedied the first time. What's strange is that my O2 readiness isn't active under MHD due to a failing HPFP? In my logs the pump only fails to deliver on aggressive pulls, and would only misfire then. I reset the battery and drove her like a grandma for a week and the readiness still won't turn on. The possibility of the o2 fail from another source than the HPFP urges me to go this route as I want to put registration behind me so I can focus on fixing the car.
