OK, so, if I remember correctly, it is on the same side as the Ottawa direction of travel. Then I know where it is. |

Great idea to have a Montreal meet.
Unfortunately it's very unlikely i'll be able to make it on nov 20th as I have to be heading out to europe for business for the last two weeks of November. Business is unpredictable so If my plans change, I'll definately go. Ayeki |

Great!! Maybe we'll have a winter meet too, and take pictures of Hot Quebec Ladies in Bikinis and Fur Coats on our hoods that we'll post for the California and Florida guys to freak out at!

And then we'll deny it was us, or else we'll end up freezing our A.....S off outside as our ladies kick us out - which means we can go driving alone in our cars.......Hmmmm.. too bad it will be winter time. (I think this qualifies as off-topic) |

Remember - and I speak from (previous) experience; you can only accelerate better than us, but you still have to break at one point.... |

Actually, it would be fun to meet again in winter and try our repsective i and xi models to see how they handle in snow. At that point we could meet at the Hyppodrome or another safe location where spinnion out has no consequence other than humilitation I am eager to see how mine will do this winter - first time I drive a RWD in winter. |

Last winter was my first in RWD...and my last!!! LOL.
I enjoy regularly trying out my car's systems in bad weather in safe locations..it pisses my wife off, and I'm like,"hey, the more you know the safer a driver you are!".

Yeah, I used to do that with the Audi, turn off the DSC and try to spinn.
The car would actually do a 4 wheel spin on acceleration, but I could never have it slide without at the same time actually momentarily losing control, because the front would slide as well - and then the electro nannys would come alive and stop the car sideways (on Audi you cannot completely and absolutely turn them off), which resulted in my stalling on several occasions-Ouuups. I look forward to non tire smoking slides in snow with mine. With the DSC etc. I don't think I will have any problems. But I do not live far from the city on icy, narrow roads - so i can fully understand that you chose the AWD. |

Ya, it gets to be quite stressful in winter when it is pitch black and there is a ton of black ice and/or blowing snow.
I enjoyed my RWD for the December-end of January period, and then winter got nasty with multi-day storms. I mean, just getting out of downtown became a challenge. And obviously if I can't deal with the drive I shouldn't live so far away, but I don't mind the drive, I just want to make it as efficient and stress free as possible. The xi should give that little edge. Anyway, thanks to the miracle of online access, I can spend some of those foul winter days at home and my clients not only understand, they expect me to stay home, and we get the job done anyway.

I can't wait to play around with the DSC/DTC in an icy parking lot though. |
