Hi I just wanted to say Sam is a great guy with exceptional care for detail! I went for full cic upgrade from ccc and I must say he did a fantastic job and the car has been transformed into a media monster which works seamlessly. Anybody worried about undertaking such an upgrade should have peace of mind that he will do an A* job, I would highly recommend him! thanks again

And I'll just chip in to say Sam offers great after sales care/service as well. Due to a dealer visit for a new fuel pump I unfortunately had to undo all Sam's hard work with a combox upgrade he did and put the car back to standard so the dealer could update all my software etc. Contacted Sam for guidance and he was more than happy to help and provided detailed instructions/guidance both via phone & email and extremely quickly too. I will definitely be a repeat customer, this guy knows his stuff and how to treat people. Wish I could say the same for the dealer!!

Those of you who had combox installed by me, BMW has released new firmware for combox.
You can contact me and I can e-mail you the file. It is 8MB in size.

Hi Sam

What's your availability like over this next fortnight? I am down in England for the holidays and will be looking to get the combox installed and coded.

Thanks

New firmware usually makes the combox compatible with new phones and remove any old bugs. Bmw does not release any log of changes so cannot comment.
Sent you firmware.

Ive just done mine, it took about 3 minutes.
If it doesn't work you have the option to roll back to the old version.
There is no change log, but all it probably is is support for newer phones.
If I spot anything different I'll post

Sorry just got time to login.
Dest has answered it.
It takes 3 minutes and safe as you can roll back to old firmware if you have any issues.

You will get usb in the glove box.

If your car has space for cradle, then it will fit. It will charge your phone and will give you better mobile signals.

Since you do not have combox, it will not give you option to play music via cradle. That options is viable with combox and 6NF plate. Very expensive IMHO.

If you want music from your phone onto CIC, then cheapest way is aux-in.
Other option is to have combox where you get usb in the central arm rest.
You can then buy brodit holder for iphone 4/4s and run the usb cable to the usb in the arm rest.
So, every time you sit in your car, you slide in your phone to brodit clip.
Then it will get charged and you get your music on CIC.

Sam talked me out of having a cradle and now much prefer the setup i have. Enables me to see my phone and emails/txts coming in, and play music through the system via idrive and combox. iPhone also charges too!

It is a Brodit Proclip and a Brodit iPhone 6 holder.

The Pro clip is Clip on so can be removed without any residue. It is sold and stable as are all brodit products.

The iPhone holder then screws to the proclip. It has a swivel so can be positioned to your liking.

Brodit site
Go on here and put your car details in and it will give you a few positional options.
