idk if im posting in the right spot... im kinda new to this forum and BMWs so im still learning the accronyms and stuff.
anyway i was wondering if there was a way to turn on (maybe programing?) the door handle lights while driving. idk i think it would look kinda cool. i tried searching for something like this online but i just see retrofit kits and stuff. Last edited by alberto562; 10-20-2016 at 11:20 PM.. |

I am also interested by this. Anyone know where to find the cable that controls the handle leds (inside the car possibly under dash ) ?

Yea maybe someone that knos electrical can chime in and help us out. Maybe something with an ON and OFF switch cuz it may not be legal everywhere.. esp if u live in cali where CHPs hate everyone.
They could be helpful in legit applications. For example 1. If u are caravaning with multiple cars or to make it easier for someone that needs to follow u somewhere in another car. 2. When ur parking at night. 3. In neighborhoods at night to make it easier to see things that may cross in front of u. Thats all i can think of for now lol. But im pretty sure there could be more.. any one think it may be a bad idea? |

you need the angel eyes relay but instead of hooking up to your angel eyes, you can tap it into the door led wire. your led will still light up when locking and unlocking, but will stay on when you have your iginition on.

you can find the wire for the door leds at the frm behind the drivers side kick panel. I don't know what pin it would be but I'm sure you can find it here. http://www.bmw-planet.net/diagrams/r.../e90/index.htm
I can try to find it on the diagram later today. Once you find the wire you can just wire it up with a toggle switch, no relay needed. I would use a diode to keep power from being fed back into the frm. |
