N51 maf problems

Hello,

Recently SES light came on the dash with P0100 fault, saying mass air flow circuit. Tried cleaning the connectors, not the MAF itself. Car is acting weird on cold start ups, rpm needle bounces like crazy between 500-1200 for like 15 seconds and normalizes itself, but if I press brake pedal, rpm increases for like 100-200 and after releasing brake pedal goes back to normal idling. Tried to check live data, maf reading 3.1-3.5g on idle and 150g on redline ( outside temperature was 24 C ).

Wondering do I need to try cleaning it first and test it again, or just buy a another one ?

You can try cleaning it, but you more than likely have a vacuum leak that is causing your issue.

Cleaned the maf sensor, didn't help. Found a cracked tube behind maf sensor where it connects to the throttle body, but that was just a first step. Going to dig deeper

Found some vacuum leaks elsewhere, but now maf reading 0.00 all the times. If I unplug it and start the car, I get SES light and Mass or Volume airflow A circuit code.
