The way I read it nobody`s having a go at Carl, just stating facts about DMS. My own post is based entirely on my experience which I`ve spoken about in many threads.

Nice to know that we do have a keyboard warrior in SirJames to keep us all in check `tho.

DMS power quotes are a little on the optimistic side and this comes from dyno evidence and personal experience of their maps.

The E60 M5 and E46 M3 are the prime exmaples in the BMW world.

+ 40 and +30 bhp respectively are not achieveable and there have never been any dyno graphs even close to this.

This is not to say that I think DMS do bad remaps. They do good remaps but in order to win business they always seem to quote alot higher than anyone else without any sort of evidence. It's more of a marketing stunt. Their remaps are no different to alot of others.

I think alot more people would have more respect for DMS if they quoted more realistic figures and stopped slating other tuners off.

Thanks

They are not the only company quoting higher figures than what is really achieveable.

Even so lets wait untill i get roaded again shall we?

Or just go off my New time at the pod which is significantly faster than my stock time, and we know the DXB wernt shy stock.

There is more in her too,

to be continued..............

Who else is quoting silly figures? Would be interesting to know.

There is no doubt that the remap DMS did to your car is good. The times speak for themselves and in reality it's the times that matter.

Our own modded Z3M coupe does 13.2 at santapod - it was beaten by this by a remapped 335d saloon!

Thanks

Other companies quote 350bhp and get 310bhp-ish on the dyno.

Cool who was the 335d saloon owned by? Jules?

That's a very disingenous response Carl, and quite frankly mischievous.

The reasons behind the results from our re-run on the dyno were thoroughly explained by the person who carried out the remap.
Tony and myself were more then happy with the remap, and I'm quite sure that our maps are just as good as the one you had done by DMS, and possibly better.

Please can you tell the truth, and stop casting aspersions on others, or perhaps others might be tempted to tell the truth on your behalf.

Carlos in future please engage your brain before writing what amount to scurrilous comments on a public forum

Carlos,as you can tell, your comment has pissed me off,not because you have dissed my map, but more because you have failed to take on board what has been explained in considerable detail in the past, and your comment is borderline slander.

Sal, to keep you up to speed, it's best you read what ACTUALLY transpired, both before and after a remap, and hopefully your conclusion will be the same as most other reasonably minded people.

Carlos, you really need to READ and DIGEST what others write, firstly I have used DMS twice and I have stated in this thread that I was more then happy with DMS.
I'm quite sure your map is a good one and as expected of such a good and reputable company that DMS can rightfully claim to be.

No you did not mention any forum members nor companies in your comment, but do you really expect forum members NOT to know to whom you are referring, don't be so naive.

Forget Santa Pod,lets keep the test scientific shall we, you had your car dynoed as did others,Tony and I had ours re-dynoed after the remap.

So I'll pay the cost of your re-dyno at Danny's at Marlow, and we'll ask Danny to carry out the dyno under exactly the same conditions as the original runs and Tony and my subsequent post map dyno run.
Lets see if your comments ring true and your post map dyno comes up with massively different results to Tony's and mine.

I'm willing to bet that your result will no doubt surprise and disappoint you, in terms of perceived bhp gains.

Just to make it clear Carlos,I'm not dissing DMS or your remap, what has pissed me off is your comment about claims made by other mappers and the perceived poor end result.
Comments like yours can do irretrivable damage to people's reputations, something you fail to take onboard.

Let me know if your up for the challenge.

On the subject of claims made by remapping companies in terms of increases in bhp and torque, the main culprits results are below:

Evolve your car:
http://www.evolveyourcar.com/results...ant=&x=75&y=18

BMW 3 Series E90 E91 E92 335d 286 BHP £695 Stage 1: ECU Remap +54 BHP +80nm Torque

E-Maps:http://www.e-maps.co.uk/products/BMW...ies+%28e90%29/

3.5d EDC16 286 580 350 700

CAA:http://www.ca-automotive.co.uk/produ...wX2lkPTg=.html

E90 335D--- +65 bhp/120 Nm ( NO this is not a misprint)

DMS:

http://www.dmsautomotive.com/index.asp?upid=1&msid=0

Interestingly DMS do not publish any increased performance figures, but I do know their claims are less then both E-maps and CAA, and are similar to those of Evolve.

Oh *hit

No seriously,it's a date then,I'm busy for the next couple of weeks,so please aim for wk commencing March 10th, but I can't do the 13th.
Alternatively we can do a Saturday assuming Danny is willing.

Lets nail it once and for all, anyone else with a DMS map who wants to give it a shot,but...................no,I'll stop at stumping up for Carl's dyno.

Get yer diary out Fandango!

Oh by the way Carlos, bring some Kleenex, you'll need it cos you'll be

If this is on a Sat, I`ll be collecting my car either that Sat or the Sat before. If its the same day, I`ll make the trek from Simpsons in Lydney over to Marlow.

I have to back Ian up here - Carl, get yourself down to Marlow and do a re-run. I imagine that you will have felt a bit of a difference post map so don't be disappointed if this is not bourne out on the RR.

There is no point in having a pop at other mapping companies when you don't have any experiance. I would have thought that Ian's view should carry some weight given his previous experiance of several mappers.
