I'm just looking for a louder and deeper note to my exhaust without having to go aftermarket.
Get 1790 Vibrant Performance Resonators put in their place.

You might even just put a set of used BMW performance mufflers for around $750.00 and couple it with an X pipe, if you don't have one.

I think you'll find the sound with this setup intoxicating.

How much of a difference does adding in vibrant resonators make? I have a 335iS e93 so I believe I already have the xpipe at the mid-section. Looking at deleting the secondary cats since I already have downpipes.

I'd rid of the secondary cats in a heart beat. It's a no brainer. You gain 5-10hp. You reduce back pressure on the turbos, and you reduce drone. If you want your car to sound almost verbatim to the PE exhaust, do the golf tee mod in addition to the secondary cat delete.

I already have the golf tee mod done. Should I go straight pipe or replace them with 1792 resonators?

1792 = 2.50"

The OEM exhaust pipes are 2.38-9" wide.

1790 = 2.25" ; 2.25" won't work.

If you don't have some sort of resonator, it will be loud and you will have DRONE & RASP.

You will need about 2 feet of SS 2.5" exhaust pipe as well

Thanks I’ll have to call around to have a shop take care of it.

So I had 1792 vibrant resonators installed this morning on my E93 335is

AWESOME!!! So much deeper and more refined sound. The mod offers a consistent sound throughout the entire RPM range whereas before it sounded like it was breaking up above 5000 rpm. The cracks and pops are much, much louder than before. However it doesn't add loudness during normal driving.

For those interested, my setup is

- VRSF catless dp
- Vibrant 1792s in place of secondary cats (removed)
- Golf tee mod
- Stock 335iS exhaust
- MHD with aggressive burbles (set to 2.5 seconds) with E50 custom tune from Wedge

10/10 rating

Ok. Now you need to make a sound video with both cold start & warm start & post.

I made one on my iPhone, put it on my personal YouTube account and then posted the link here on this forum......

I am very curious as I am sure others are as to how it sounds with revs & idol etc.

I'm glad the 1792 worked out. I told you you'd be happy 😃

Did you lose all the raspy noise from the catless downpipes?

Yes, IMO must have mod for anyone running catless downpipes. I am not sure whether it's a placebo effect but it seems to have smoothened out my throttle response as well. Could be attributed to the better flow without the secondaries choking it up.

I'd agree. I don't think it placebo effect. You gained maybe 5-10 HP from cutting off the secondary cats. I would agree based on my own experience that the car will accelerate smoother & slightly quicker. I would absolutely attribute this to having less back pressure on the turbos, as a result of cutting off the secondary cats.

A small side benefit to having Catless down pipes and a secondary cat delete is that you should have prolonged the life of your turbos, from not having the back pressure on them anymore.

In my picture, it appears there is a H pipe after the resonators. I thought E92/E93 comes with an xpipe? Is there any restriction there?

From what I have read, an X pipe is better, but I think it could be debated to be honest. I have an X pipe because I have an E90 which comes with resonator. I cut it out and put a SS X pipe in its place.

I'm welding back 2nd cats after riding 3' custom decat exhaust with MG Motorsport muffler ans Vibrant 1792 resonators for over a year.
Too loud and smelly for a daily, but sounds amazing otherwise.
I'm going to try Magnaflow 300 sport cats with double the flow of stockers.

https://youtu.be/6HoIpuWsSo4
Silent mode and warm engine, loud mode on cold start was waking up all my neighbours
