Replaced 06 330i CCC unit with 08 335i CCC now Idrive knob/controller doesnt work!!

Hi,

Replaced my old CCC unit 06 330i with an eBay 08 335i. I coded the unit to my car all the buttons on the unit work, the steering wheel buttons work, idrive screen displays. Now my idrive knob doesn't work and spins freely.

My question is do I need to code the old knob to work with the new 08 CCC unit? How do I go about doing that as well using NCS Expert?

I seem to remember people having to update the controller firmware with winkfp. Google around for "CCC controller with CIC retrofit".
