Anyone using ONLY German Castrol (0W-30) and experiencing N54 carbon buildup ?

Apparently an oil with ultra-low volatility like GC prevents CB ( = less oil vapor into the PCV system).
From others not experiencing CB issues , what oil do you use and what OCI ?
Thanks for your input.

ALL direct injection engines experience carbon buildup

Yeah, oil doesn't matter.

However, what's interesting is that the GM direct injection does not require the maintenance as does the BMW and Audis. I saw someone once post a technical article about the GM motor (as in the Camaro and CTS 6 cyl.)....

I don't know anythying about GM's motors, but they may have an auxiliary port injector to wash the valves.

Apparently gm's vvt system eliminates the need for egr, which apparently eliminates the carbon buildup. It passes emissions without it. Apparently.
Toyota has secondary port injection.

..tried Mobil 1 once on my old leased 335 but I've noticed the engine has begun to burn oil so I switched to GC ( after the change there was no detectable oil consumption) and I stayed with it until the car was returned back to BMW. There was some CB but nothing like I've seen on this forum @ ~ 40K. I didn't use exclusively GC like I am doing now but I presume GC helped...

I use Mobile 1 0W-40 too and Ive never had any issues. I send out my oil every change to blackstone Labs to get it analyzed. Its nice to know whats going in inside your engine especially if you push it like most of us do. Its also nice because the can check the active additives in the oil and let you know if you should change it sooner or not on your next run. I'm averaging about 8500 miles before the additive neutralizes. It costs a few extra bucks but its worth it to know...

GC has a slightly higher flash point 238*C (vs. Mobil 1 230 * C ) and a much better pumpability when cold thus offering a much better protection for my engine (I live in NE). It's also a very stable synthetic motor oil with a cSt of 12(+-) at 100 C which is very important for a turbo engine. A better alternative might be PENNZOIL ULTRA ™ EURO but it's very difficult to find the variety I need.
