Question ordering B12 kit anything else needed?

getting ready to do B12 kit all the way around and was wondering if i need anything else before getting started.

would rather spend now on mounts and ancillary parts. see lots of nice stuff on Turner Motorsports.

im also doing other suspension parts too

m3 control arms
28mm sway
front stuffonly right now

If you're doing the M3 arm conversion, you also need the m3 headlight leveler as well since the non-m 3er arm isn't compatible. (PN: 37142283867)

Do the tension rods as well. Those are notorious for going out in non m3 e9x causing your wheel to move back and forth. The m3 replacement comes with a solid bushing instead of a fluid filled one.

ok so whats the deal with all these different B12 kits? how is each one a different lowering capability? theres no break down on why the kits are different

so are the springs different or the actual shocks or struts?

and why is the B14 kit cheaper, would have thought that coil overs would be more

Lmao that's how it goes. Start a project, to take care of somehing. But once you start thinking more on it, it becomes "well since I'm already in here, I might as well...."

You should include strut mounts to that list too.

Also make sure you have the dust caps for the strut mounts. When I bought my car it was missing one, and that bearing in the mount was nearly seized because of dust, water, and grime that made it's way inside.

I always wondered about this too. I'd personally go with the B12 over the B14 because the B12 ride height is perfect for my needs.

Interesting. I never bought anything through CarID and I wasn't aware there were multiple options.

FCP only lists one B12 kit for my specific E90 (330i) which is the same and only B12 kit for my car directly on the Bilstein website. I'm guessing the different options are for other configurations (coupe vs sedan, 325/328/330 vs 335i, etc.)

Look closely, as they mention Eibach Sportline springs in the description. The first one on that list doesn't look like its for your car. The second is probably the true Pro Kit B12 and the third substitutes Sportline springs (lower). I would call and confirm.

I like your list.

Just make sure you torque everything down to spec & go back in 30 days afterward & double check/ re-torque.

Which sway bar links did you get? At $120.00, I assume you just got the front?

Add about 1.25", for starters, in length to the sway bar link. Ideally, you would do a final measurement (adjustment) while the car is on ramps before you tighten the nut into place.

To torque the bolts on hub, I like to use a 9" 1/2 drive extension & go in from the top. I think it's easier this way.

The above 2 paragraphs are just from my experience.

while there is some description, its lacking crucial information, spring ratings, and rebound and such for the dampeners
