within the igo menu set the wanted volume and sound settings to about 1/4 to 1/3. Turn the unwanted noises off by pressing the speaker icon, an X will appear over the speaker icon for that setting. The "master volume" will default to max, leave it there.
Then use the dynavins volume knob to set the voice to a comfortable level. You can "force" the nav to speak by going to the voice selection screen and making a selection, as its talking, adjust the knob. Now going forward, anytime the nav is talking the volume knob will control the nav volume only. |

Here's a strange quirk I discovered today with 1.1.1.
With the radio volume turned all the way down (no sound) when the navigation voice comes on, the radio can now also be heard while the voice is taking. When the nav is done talking, the radio goes back to silence too. It's like it's still trying to turn down the radio so you can hear the nav directions, but the radio is already turned all the way down.

I think I've hit that one too. Another odd one is sometimes the SD card tunes (maybe other inputs too, whatever it was last set to before turning off) will come on when they are supposed to be off and I reverse (I have a reverse camera).

Dynavin N6 PDC Problem
I installed Dynavin N6 in my BMW 2011 328i with PDC front and rear sensors. During my installation I had few issues seeking help from Jeff. I hate to rain on his parade but received no response. Eventually I was able to resolve my installation issues on my own. The Dynavin N6 works great and I really like the unit.
However I still have one existing problem. The PDC does not turn off when going from Reverse to Drive or any other gear selection. It remains beeping and on my screen. I can turn off the PDC by pressing the PDC button. It's frustrating though not to have it automatically release when going from Reverse to another other gear. Has anyone else with PDC had this issue with the Dynavin N6? |

If you tried to contact me last weekend I was out of town with my kids for memorial day weekend, no computer, no internet......Sorry folks, Im only available 98% of the time....
Also...for future readers of this thread....if you email/call etc...PLEASE identify yourself! Because of my high internet profile I get contacted by EVERYBODY on the planet wanting me to answer their questions, solve their problems, etc... There are not enough hours in the day and im trying to run a business here..... I try very hard to take care of my customers but if you bought some random thing on ebay, or gave the sale to my competitors, you are on your own. Now bimvaria, to answer your question.....no that is not normal but front PDC on an E90 is not a very common option so I cant say for sure that we have much of a sample to draw from.... Email me the specifics about your make and model and ill talk to dynavin to see if they have seen this before and what we can do about it. |

Is there anyway to mute the mic when on a call? I hate having to use my phone for that as I have to fumble with it which is not good while driving. Ideal would be a button on the N6 screen that I could just tap. I spend quite a few commutes home having to be dialed into conference calls where I spend a lot of time listening and relatively little time talking.
I've searched through the manual and found a reference to mute on page 10 but that must be for one of the other models as it isn't mentioned anywhere else? Thanks, Kevin |

bimvaria,
I got your email this morning and went back and looked at my email history since you said I did not respond to your emails.....I responded to multiple emails from you last week, the 18th and the 19th.....so that means my emails are not getting to you, could be your spam filter, could be a glitch, but FYI I responded to this mornings email as well so make sure you find it. Alfahoser, No I dont recall that there is a mute for the mic, I understand what you are saying but Ive never been asked for that before. Ill pass it on to dynavin, maybe they can work something into a future firmware release. One thing you might try.....not sure if there is enough range but on the new firmware there is a mic gain adjustment.....not exactly a button but you can slide the mic gain all the way down....it might go far enough down to be basically muted. |

Jeff......Mia Culpa
My Bad!! Apparently my email spam filter trashed your responses. Jeff I apologize for my prior statements about your lack of responding of my questions.
I appreciate and value your reply with my PDC sensor issue. You were correct in saying it was a BMW canbus issue of not turning off the front PDC sensors until the car reached a certain speed threshold and not an issue with Dyanvin 6 software. As Jeff said the PDC will release once the car speed reaches a certain speed threshold. Actually I now like this feature. Bottom line I'm a happy camper with the Dynavin 6 HU. My wife, as co-pilot, loves the Navi Igo Maps and the intuitive interface of the Dynavin HU. Happy wife happy life!!! |

Installed mine today. Took maybe 2-3hrs total
Longest part of the install was routing the GPS antenna (was a ***** of a job) Finally managed to get it sitting where the OP's one is but I've tucked the cable along the windshield and down under the passenger A pillar cover and then behind the glove box into the back of the unit. Also just ran the power cable into the fusebox. Currently into fuse 42 (seats) while testing but will move it into one of the engine ones (most likely fuse 70) soon. Haven't run the Mic yet but will see if I need it (if I do i'll run it along the roof liner and down the A Pillar and join it up with the GPS cable back to the unit. I've got the 2 USB ext's running and sitting in the glove box (will use them for charging ipods etc) Sounds quality is good, the eq's make a big change to the usual AUX input sound. I'll just be using the bluetooth phone/music, GPS and the OBD functions really, might look into a TV module etc in the future. So far, its am awesome unit but only issue I have is the OBD voltage shows 60v (even after updating to 1.1.1 firmware) Will be paying an installer to sort out the reverse camera for me as I rooted my E39 touring trying to run the camera for that so not gonna mess with that one! |

Loud Bong sound while using 32gb Micro SD card
Hi Guys
Sorry for butting into your thread but I've got a major technical issue with Dyanvin N6 for my BMW e92 and need some help. I had the unit fitted a few months ago but when I try to use a 32 gb micro SD card I get this almighty bong sound either immediately or a few minutes into to my drive. It can be quite dangerous as the first few times it occurred I near crashed the car as i jumped through the roof. I've spoken with the installer but they don't seem to know what it can be. I tried two different branded card now with the same outcome. Please someone help. Secondly I can not get my 80gb iPod to work. I just get a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark int the middle. Any ideas would be great. Thanks Paul |

If I have an after market amp installed using a Technic harness, will this head unit be a plug and play? Or will I need to run speaker wire and rca from the HU to the amp? Thanks. I have a hifi system with a JL XD 700/5

actually you could do it either way....you CAN just unplug the stock stereo and plug in the dynavin and leave the rest of your system as is (readjust the gain on the amp of course)
OR Run RCAs from the dynavin direct to the amp, leave everything downstream from the amp as is......this is a "more correct" way of doing things and will sound marginally better although whether the time, money, and effort is worth it could be debatable..... |

Yeah, those "ipod video" from 8-9 years ago can be problematic, ive had issues with them across many brands of head units over the years and the dynavin does not like them much either. The "classic" from 2007 on does not suffer from the incompatibilities that the "video" did.
