luckily those videos aren't on the dragon. Lane crossing on the dragon is the most dangerous thing one might encounter, that or the occasional semi(even though they are banned )

Ninjaneer, we should try and get a couple more from the central Florida area to go because if we get split up that's going to suck as it's a long drive. If we had at least three or four of us trekking up Florida together that'd be ideal.

Umm... so you're saying the more there are the harder it is to get split up?

Well, yes and no. If you've got four cars in the vicinity of each other on the highway and you all get split up it's going to be much easier to find one of them than it is to find the other one if there are only two of you. Basically, if you've got three targets to find and only have to find one of them or one and you have to find that one in a sea of cars, which task is going to be easier?

Anyway I've told some of my friends but one said he can't make it and another hasn't gotten back to me but I'm kind of doubting it.

Phew! As expected I got an assignment due right after the trip date... luckily the professor emailed us today and told us that it's been canceled and he'd give us one next week instead, so the due date will most likely be extended to early Feb. Now I can relax

BTW we are doing a pre-Sharkfest (in Asheville 20-22 April) ToD drive on 18 and 19 April. Sharkfest is a celebration of the original e24 Shark and the new e63/64 Shark. But we like ALL BMWs. Welcome to jump in or out as you like. Will post more details later. We will HQ at Tapoco Lodge for early morning runs on Wednesday and Thursday

Well I just PM'ed you guys in Fla...wish I had kept up with this thread before; however, now that I'm up to date on things here is my take. Looks like you guys are meeting in Buford around 8-9 AM. You will be taking 985N after your meet so take Exit 22, turn left and we can meet at the QuikTrip on the right. If you will just call me when you leave Buford, I'll leave the house, I'm about 10 minutes from the QuickTrip, and meet up there.

I usually take my walkietalkie and stay on channel 21 sub 7; or, if you have a fav just let me know. It's a must you have radios with sub channels or all you will be able to do is listen. Taking time out for pictures along the way is great and we will have places to stop for great photo ops.

I was up on The Dragon last Sunday (the 14th) with some MINI Coopers and it was great all the way around. One note of caution, you will need to keep the speed down under 70 mph when we turn left and start for Robbinsville. Just south of Robbinsville are lots of areas to get the speed up but then a nice little curve can come up and guess who is coming around the bend Your radar will not help in that situation, trust me, I know...my val one was no help...70 in a 40 but he took mercy on me and wrote it up as 70 in a 55...and I have no reason why other than he just didn't want to haul my ass to jail...the weather was just too nice I guess. Once we get to the Dragon, just as long as you stay on your side of the road, they leave you alone but cross the line and they catch you, you are mud.

The weather looks like it has a chance to go either way. The storm from the west is coming so we will need to watch the reports very closely. My gut feels like we will get this run in. If they say 30 percent chance of the bad stuff it will be worth a shot to try to make it. I'm looking forward to seeing another 335i Coupe; who might that be? I'm ready when you are

There's a Gainesville, GA?!!! LOL no wonder! That PM had me confused, but it makes sense now

bmwexec and I are driving up from FL and we thought you were in Gainesville, FL 2 hours from us, so we'd drive the rest of the ~5 hours together, but it looks like we're on our own all the way up to GA. We're going to Suwanee, GA for the hotel, then we'll meet up at whatever the first meeting point is according to the schedule rit has in the first post of this thread.
