Engine Ground Strap

Does anyone know the length of the engine ground strap that's on drivers side under the engine that connects starter to frame?

Wow, just what I asked for, thx. I ordered this earlier this evening as an sub for the over priced bmw name brand one. It's 12 in long about 3/4 wide. What do you guys think?

That looks like a piece of shit.

I’d rather buy a Walmart battery cable and put that on.

I gotta go with 959 on this one. The OE part is $21 on line from Tischer.

Both are welcomed IMO. Profanity is a great way to express your emotions more firmly through text IMO.

That said, the strap you ordered does indeed look pretty shitty compared to the OE part.

The getBMWparts.com aka Tischer price is $43.24. Perhaps you could explain how I can get it for $21 bucks.

Because that is not the ground strap. That is the battery ground cable.

Look under engine electrical system not the body electrical system. There are 3 separate part numbers used for the same ground strap. All are $21.32.

If I'm going to get a feces ground strap, I'm going to pay 10 bucks not 21 for it. Besides Efthreeoh said Tischer had an OEM strap for $21 so he's called out on it, so far he's ducking me. Just as I thought, his mouth is writing check his rear can't cash.

Here is ECS link: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...e/12427549396/

EDIT: Ehhh it does kinda look flimsy compared to OE.

Go for it! It’s not like you need a quality part to insure proper operation on a heavily electronic vehicle. I bet you shop Big Lots and Dollar General for anything not found on eBay.

News flash, BWM nor getBMWparts.com make grounding straps. They make money off people's ignorance. At the end of the day, its tinted copper with connectors. As long as :guage, size, material, connector, ohms are good and secure your golden. I promise the car don't know the difference in a 10 or 40 dollar ground strap as long as it grounds properly. Only BMW drivers will argue over a freckn ground strap.

And what "check" would that be?

This one's 12 inches and is for VW dune buggies.

https://www.jbugs.com/product/9468.html

The AC Delco EGS18 will also probably fit. It's 6 inches longer.

You were talking out your without the means to
Back it up and got called out on it. You said Tischer
had the oem starter ground strap for 21 bucks
I called bull crap and told you to cough up a link.
I see no link you got nothing, but humble pie on
your face. You were trying to pile it on me and
got caught in a lie. It’s ok people make mistakes
no hard feelings I just in here to help and get help.
I do know what I want, a piece of tinted copper with
connectors, it can labeled battery ground or starter
ground it doesn’t matter.
