Here are some photos of the car when I got it and some during the swap. I swapped it before I ever stated using the car lol. I never took any actual photos of it once installed but there’s a few I found where you can see the panel with the wood trim and the alu trim.
I liked the look of it and used it till a few months ago when I switched to terra brown, as seen in my post above.
Besides the seats and dash being gray, everything else I converted to black.
Carpet, dash inserts, side dash panels, door scuff plates, center console, cup holders, end dash covers etc etc. basically anything that was black on the donor car besides the dash and seats was swapped over.
1 of 1. Soon to be 1 of 2.
That looks great! I think the E92 will have a little more gray accent which I like. I'm excited to finish mine all up.

The black carpet looks so much better in these cars! Did you pick up a used set from car-part? Looks to be in great shape!

After some sweating, plenty of cursing and discussions with some mechanically minded friends, which got me nowhere, I found a small vacuum hose had become disconnected.

Not sure what it was but as it came from the engine, went down under the air filter box and up than disappears by the hood hinge, I assume it must be the vacuum line for the exhaust valve.

After five hours of messing around the car is running fine again
These are the best. So relieving when you find the overlook. And at least you caught it before throwing money at it.

I ran into a similar thing about a year ago. My e30 cut out on me on the highway and had to get towed. Dug around the engine bay for a couple weeks chasing the issue. It wasnt until I ended up buying a replacement DME and still having no luck, that i finally found ...my starter relay had wiggled loose. Pushed it back in and she started right back up immediately

Why would the starter relay cause it to die on the highway?

Well at least it is accessible for you! And your garage is very clean and simple, I like it. My wife and I just bought a new house and I have a fresh garage to mold into what I wish!

Thats awesome. You should do a build thread on here on garage journal, I would love to watch the progress.

I dropped the rear subframe out of my car, installed the M3 rear arms, and Whiteline black subframe bushings Not a hard job, just time consuming.

Having a lift makes it much easier than just up on jackstands.

Here’s what I did.
Vacuum all of it.
Spray it all with windex and wipe that off just to get any loose dirt off that the vacuum didn’t pick up.
Spray a mix of windex and armor all over them to lubricate the brush and loosen the dirt, then wipe with a damp cloth.
Used Lexol leather cleaner on micro fiber to remove any armor all left behind.
Finish with lexol leather conditioner.
Excellent. Thanks for the info!

Cheers!

if that's what the sprinklers do to your paint I'd have brown grass.

I don't like mowing anyhow.

Lol! I can't control them, well unless I rip them out of the yard🤣. Our front yard is maintained by the housing area, so the sprinklers are set on a timer every other night at 11pm.

My buddy had a parts car. It was a little dirty, but cleaned up well. I cut it by the dash because it makes life a lot easier. Everything fit perfect. The entire process was quite lengthy though.

I need to find a pass. side door panel now. Only thing I am missing currently.

Now I have an airbag light due to the seats lol

Cleaned the leaves out of my blower motor and lubricated it. Put in some oversized bolts in the filter housing so it will stop sucking in leaves and water.

Two more injectors went in yesterday, and replaced the splash shied with a vastly inferior part. Wish I had just went OEM, but this will get by for now.

Found a European spare tire kit for sale locally at a good price, and realized my car didnt have the tie down cleats behind the rear seat. Installed new tie downs and secured my spare kit. No more run flats neccessary!!!

M3 bushings

Threw the M3 tension bushings in my E60 xi (even though its "apparently" impossible). Since the stock bushings are the same as the E90 xi it should be a good upgrade for everyone.
