Yes the BMW head unit is the server for the Most Bus which can
have a number of modules besides the SOS function . All those
modules will cease to function when replaced by and aftermarket
head unit . There are some harnesses that bypass this stuff like
certain connects 2. From the old days the first thing you did when
removing and replacing the OEM with aftermarkete was code out
the SOS module from the Instrument Panel and remove the TCU
and or Mulf .

I went the 10.25 route. And honestly I love it. Just because it doesn't fit. That seems to be the theme these days in cars coming from the factory. Screams that look out of place but are stock options. I do also have a 3d printer and think I will get to work on it.

It's part of this group in the trunk, the shock/coilovers damaged it and the speaker wiring.. also can I replace it with the aftermarket orang one shown, or do I need the one with multiple heads.

The resident guru. I've searched quite a bit and haven't found what I'm looking for. Maybe you can point me in the right direction. My optic cable has a tear in it. Near the rear strut/coilovers. Is there a tutorial on how to open the bus connection to replace that one damaged wire. There is also an spare not connected. I want to either use that to keep the green theme or use parts of the aftermarket orange wire I bought. So is there a way to just unpin those fiber optic cables and replace the damaged one without cutting or completely removing the entire harness?. Thx

If the one for the compact disk player is undamaged and you don't have
a compact disk player you can just move it over . It should go to the
Most Hub which is under the rear seat Bolster on the Driver side in
Us Cars that aren't convertibles. (REAR SEAT Bolster behind driver side see links)

https://www.google.com/search?q=BMW+...VCkMqy2aCK09M:

The connectors that have two lines going in are all modular and can be reconfigured with the end connectors.

Also you can use a flashlight to shine in one end of the fibers to see if it
transmits to the other end of any individual cable.

Thx bro. Can always count on you. I've had the seat bolster out for almost 3 weeks just contemplating on how to open up that bus and pull out the cable. You rock.

BTW what parking cameras are you using with those Joying units? And does anyone use ADAS capable DVR with it?
I have thought about getting either the 10.25 or 8.8" single din unit, but their universal camera ain't the prettiest thing and I would prefer the one that replaces trunk handle.

I bought one from Amazon that replaced the truck latch. It was 59.00. HD 1080p. Gotta make sure it's the one with the big lens sensor. The version with the smaller lens has poor picture quality.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but could anyone comment on what it is like to have this headunit on at night? Does the screen automatically dim enough to prevent glare?

Not a fan of screens in the cabin (hard to avoid nowadays) but would love to have Android Auto.

Joying has dash cam and parking cam accessories. I didn't bother with either. Wiring seems like too much work. I prefer the safe, old fashioned way of turning my head and looking when backing up in such a small car. the factory parking sensors are sufficient and pop up a display on the head unit by canbus. There's also a setting to turn the volume down when in reverse.

You can set the brightness/dimness for both day and night mode. Night mode can be set by time or by auto headlights (canbus).

I've had absolutely no issues at night

Hello,

Does anyone know what options I have if I have the Harmon Kardon sound system? Are there any options for me like this?
