NEED YOUR EXPERTISE with MAF sensor

Hey everyone,

Just purchased a 2007 328i. It does NOT have a check engine light, but occasionally it will have a rough idle. And, fuel trims are still within parameters but show an obvious "issue".

I believe the MAF sensor is on its way out because of the reading it's giving. I already removed/cleaned it.

It's reading about 2.6 g/s at idle. I can't seem to find a concrete answer for normal ranges anywhere. Some say it should be around 5 g/s.

So, what should it be at idle?

If you think you are having issues with it then just unplug it to rule it out.

In my car I have seen from 4-5.5 ish at idle. 2.6 indeed seems low. I would try and clean the sensor as maybe it is dirty and that's why it's not reading as much airflow
