Steering wheel retrofitting?

Found a good steering wheel for a great price just wanted to know if there are any issues with fitting an LCI steering wheel on my 07 pre LCI or if it is a direct "plug and play". Thanks!

First picture is the steering wheel I currently have on my 07 335xi

Second picture is a steering I have found from a 09 335xi for sell

Would caution you. I'm currently suffering after trying a swap. All sorts of stuff isn't working. I did my homework too.

I doubt there is any issue with the swap.
Many have retrofitted steering wheels with paddles from LCI cars on pre-LCI.

Tried to look everywhere online but I still haven't found the right answer to my question as all others have been trying to retrofit one with paddle shifters. In my case both my steering wheel and the one I am trying to buy have no paddle shifters and they look identical (not sure if that matters). Only difference is that one is on a Pre LCI and the other is not. From what I have read a harness from Burger Motorsport is required to do the swap if one is trying to swap to a paddle shifter steering wheel(It is a direct plug and play with the harness). Not sure if I will need some sort of harness in order to complete the swap. Anyways thanks for the advice!

The following post is the only thing I have found that is anything closely related to my issue. As seen the harness from the LCI steering wheel is different. That is also an 05 330i in that case. Therefore I am not sure if it is a reliable source to base off of. However, thanks for the suggestion!

Is the wheel you are buying including an airbag?

I would carefully look at the connectors if so.

Do you have pictures of the back of the wheel you are trying to swap in?

That's the airbag harness on that post.
So you might need to get the clockspring as well.

Another thing is the airbag seems exactly the same, so why swap them? Just use the original.

And best thing to do if you can get access to the donor car is to just try it!
It probably take 30 minutes or less to pop out both wheels and airbags. Just make sure you disconnect the battery.

Also, if you do swap clockspring, be ready to have some way to recalibrate the clockspring (I used Protool) as it might give you DSC errors.

I would love some button delete panels for my E9x steering wheel. I have a base, base, base model so I only use the volume buttons on mine, and sparingly at that. Would be really cool to have blank inserts, painted or something to match trim. Clean up the wheel a ton!
