N52 Headers... any UK spec ones?

The Super Sprint ones are for LHD as are the Active Autowerke ones... it is but a shame... while my search continues I thought I would ask whether there are any headers available for our UK spec RHD models?

Thanks

I've been looking for ages...not found one yet, sadly. We even get a poorer designed manifold on UK models from the factory, compared to the rest of Europe as these two pics reveal (Euro spec first, UK spec second):

Thanks Phil. Yes it was that thread that got me thinking about them again. Ceramic coated and tune. Out of interest I have asked AA if they would be able to modify for our rhd models. Worth asking...

Andrew replied he would need a stock set to work to. Price would be the same but we'd obviously pay through the nose for customs duty. I can't take them off mine as it is my daily driver. I will keep an eye out online if there any cheap ones going.

I have dropped 3 companies a message asking whether they would be able to fabricate custom headers.

- Top Gear UK (not the Beeb)
- JP Exhausts
- Style Dynamics

The first two websites claim to be able to offer custom manifolds/headers. I sent them a link to the AA one and told them what they should be like. Let's see what comes of it. I am going to be away for a while so this thread might fall but I will update it as soon as I know.

Reviving an old thread, but did this get anywhere?

Only one I found that claimed to be OK for RHD was a system made in Japan (at massive expense and no UK outlet).

Yes and no. It can be done in the UK but they (Top Gear) need the car for at least 3 days. As far as the six companies I spoke with know, no one has attempted this in the UK for any E9X. Top Gear would need to remove the old ones so they can work to the bolt formation/ensure that the new headers fit correctly. Then they would manufacture the new ones. Test fit and adjust if required. The best quote was 800. Generally prices start from 600. The 800 was a fully comprehensive quote i.e. Remove old ones, design/model new, build, fit, test etc.

There are only a handful of companies willing to take this project on.

I thought about it and concluded that for 15hp more or whatever it is you could remap for a third or may be even a fourth of that cost. Yes it's not as much as you would get compared with headers or even headers and a remap but it is worth considering.

The alternative is you buy the super sprint headers and have them modified by CA Technologies Ltd as they have modified LHD to fit RHD in the past a number of times but I don't have a costing for this.

As we have two holidays lined up in the year I can't play the game this year sadly.

It's an interesting topic, but for hassle factor makes it difficult to justify. Reading http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1066291 it seems that the gains are limited and results unclear without removing cats etc. As my car is primary road focused and not track day removing cats is not an option.
