What is this part in the picture

This is a 2006 BMW 330i. Could anybody tell me what is this part in the pic?

Looks like a remote mounted engine oil cooler; but it's not stock I don't think, it looks like an M3 oil cooler. Do you know the history of the car? It also looks like your heater return line is completely broken apart. Was there damage to the underside in that area?

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Thank you! I ran over a dead dear, broke a lot of things down there. Pully, belt, radiator fan, coolant pipes, and some parts I can't tell the name like this one.

Looks like the auto trans fluid cooler/heater. Does it also connect to the radiator/ coolant loop?
