Would you buy an Amazon MAF?
$49 on Amazon vs $200 at ECS/Pelican/etc... would you take the chance?
Also... what do you make of this fun list of codes? |

I wouldn't buy the no-name $20-40 MAFs I have seen pictures on ebay. (They started making those finally! )
The OEM is made by VDO/Continental, you can search the VDO part number that is printed on the MAF on your car and buy that one, without the BMW text on it, will be cheaper than BMW branded one. Same part otherwise. But still not $40 cheap. About codes, my guess someone removed the intake manifold for some work like starter replacement, and forgot to connect back the throttle body assembly connector and also the evap gas purge line. |

Thanks... I'll check that connector before I start throwing parts at it. What's weird is that I've had the car for 3 months and this just randomly happened overnight.

I'll pull the connector and check. The MAF reads very low mass flow when looking at live values. But i'm baffled as to why I'm seeing throttle adaptation errors. Or Evap for that matter. Unless, somehow, they're all related in the wiring harness. |
