That wood trim is really easy to remove and wrap with vinyl; plus it's pretty cheap to do. Please.....please don't go with carbon fiber. Silver or brushed aluminum would look nice in there.
I actually like the wood trim it's just the leather color wasn't my first choice.

Engine bay needs major cleaning and the paint needs to be addressed. Ordered a heavy claybar kit and I plan to spend a whole day cleaning her up good.

Future goals is to do bolt ons and m sport bumpers. Then single turbo build after that.

Kind of disappointed the Koni yellows only lasted 2 years (40k mi).

This worries me as I just installed my KONI Yellows a couple weeks ago!

I stated that in the last sentence of the post, if you're referring to the Konis.

The bump stop has almost 150k on it as I wasn't diligent enough to replace it 2 years ago. Silly mistake.

I've seen leather dye jobs to change the color, but not something I've ever tried myself. Maybe something you could look into. I saw somewhere on here where a guy did a color change on the the entire interior that came out really clean.

When I bought my E93 I had some issues with the paint as well. It took me wet sanding the entire car by hand 3 different times to get it where I wanted it. It eventually looked like a black mirror by the time I was finished, well worth the effort that was put in.

Good luck on your build and keep us posted on progress.

They are style 216 wheels. Originally found on the 320si. I've gotten a lot of positive feedback about them but personally they're not for me

Weighed the body harness I pulled out of an E90 in my quest to understand component weights on my drag build. Weighs 50 lbs!

Someday this will go away when I go standalone but will be going back in the car here shortly.

Spent about 1.5 hour coding a nice 2006 Monaco Blue M6.
Enabled AUX, and did the regular things (fold mirrors with keyfob, no iDrive disclaimer, close windows with keyfob, etc.)

Sounds good! You'll probably see a for sale post in the future if I find replacement wheels.

This looks terrifying to reinstall.

I had a friend who used to work in Spartanburg on X3/X5 wiring harnesses in a co-op. She really enjoyed it. She said it was an interesting challenge to make it cheaper to install in the car. Even saving pennies can equate to huge cost savings.

Work in Progress

Got some pics of the car today after a couple of minor changes/adjustments:

1. Changed suspension from H&R Race Springs to H&R Sport Springs, both on Koni STR.T dampers. (Wrote a review on the differences if anyone is interested)

2. Finally managed to go back to the original 335is Wheels (Style 313). I love the Style 230 Wheels, but had to represent the 335is properly and when I found this replacement set of rims (damn near perfect and in new condition) I couldn't pass them up. Only downside is that instead of the M Badge on the spoke, I have the "BMW Performance" Logo on the lip. I also wonder if they are actually a bit darker shade of grey on the "barrel" since I don't remember the originals being this shade.

I also managed to use BimmerGeeks Pro Tool to code out my seat belt extenders, turn off my TPMS (module is bad), turn on the Digital Speedo and have it display the corrected speed. Little things, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it.

This weekend: replaced all sway bar bushings, replaced the valve cover gasket, tightened up a bunch of loose oil pan bolts, and bled the brakes.

Brass clutch bushings. The old bushings were in good shape, but was getting some minor side to side play in the clutch pedal (1/2 inch). Brass Reduced the lateral play by about 50%.

Contributes to an overall more solid and satisfying gear shift. Never really thought about it, but shifting encompasses more than just the the gear shift - turns out clutch feel is important too.

Best I can describe it: went from “clutch in (rubber squishy feeling), shift, gas” to “clutch in (metal, direct feeling), shift, gas”.

Walnut blasted. It was most likely never done before in her 75,000 miles. Car runs so much smoother and it was pretty smooth to begin with. This is a must do with direct injection!

Unhappy Intake Manifold Fun in The Sun

Registration coming up, so replaced the purge solenoid to fix that PO4XX code. Also finally removed the intake manifold to fix an "inside" DISA code. Of course, I only bought the inside DISA, only to discover that the outside DISA was broken too, flap snapped off its pivot and leaning towards its frame. Not only that, I thought I was special and belonged to the "1%" that this would not happen to, but alas, yes, I broke the crankcase breather hose that breaks 99% of the time when doing manifold work. So now I'm waiting for FCP to fulfill my DISA and CCV kit order and detailing the engine compartment while I wait because I have no choice. I almost want to order a starter because I'm pretty sure the current one is original and has 216K miles on it, and so I can get this side of the engine over with, alternator being new and all... oh and that wiring junction box just brings me to tears.
