Fitted and coded a LCI climate control unit to my car that came out of an X1. My F82 M4 seats now have fully working seat heating functions. It appears that my car was pre-wired for seat heating, which I wasn't fully sure on until actually doing the job.
Also fitted some proper screws that have been missing from my front bumper for some time and messing with panel alignment.

Changed transmission fluid, seal tubes and adaptors and pan. Drained 3.1 liters of ATF and replaced it with 5 plus. Hoping this will cure the transmission slipping issue.
Changed engine oil and filter. Replaced the oil filter and oil cooler manifold gaskets, also the spigot for the radiator hose. There was plenty of leaked oil over the front of the engine. Replaced the rocker cover gasket. Removed the inlet manifold and looked at the inlet ports. Holy smokes. They are carboned up. Will probably media blast them with walnut shells of I can find any in Sydney. Looking for a oil catch can. Found this one at supercheap. What you think? https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/...E&gclsrc=aw.ds That was all. Car still on stands. Will manhandle the downpipes away from the frame rail, too close for my liking. Will put her down and go for a drive as soon as I have done (or not) the inlets. |

Glad I did all three problematic gaskets and also replaced the water spigot on the head. Never without issues. Was good on test drive until WOT then it threw low high fuel pressure reading and went into limp mode. Just as well it killed the engine because it was really lean for a split second. Internet says to "replace hpfp". My brain and pocket says "no way". Too coincidental. Those who know the N54 or know me, know what the issue was. See attached. Took off fuel rail, addressed issue. All good!! Purrs like a kitten. Transmission is shifting well and no error messages. Fingers crossed. Still goes like there is no tomorrow. |

Took her out for a shakedown today. Transmission is holding up, no slipping, limping or sticking, just shifting. I swear the walnut blasting and air filter clean woke it up. Seems smoother and feels like it pulls harder in the upper rev range. |
