What is your method to launch your AT? (manual owners need not reply)

I have only an SSTT otherwise stock. If I do the brake and light gas to get the RPM's up to 1200 - 1500 and let the brake off and mash the throttle I get to much wheel spin in 1st. From idle there is a slight lag before the power comes on and again wheel spin.

The best method I have come up with that has produced the fastest 0 - 60
Same as above (Gas / brake to get the engine around 1200 RPM)
Let off the brake and ease into the throttle for a 1/2 second or so then quickly (not mashing) the throttle to the floor. the tires still let loose but not as bad I shift around 6500 RPM.
I have decreased my 0 - 60 times by 3/10 this way (based on Gtimer)

You didn't mention what you're doing about traction control. From your OP, it sounds like you have held the DTC button down more than 5 seconds and shut off traction control entirely, resulting in the wheelspin you've described. I think the general consensus regarding drag racing is that one push of the DTC button results in the best 1/4 mile times.

From my experiences at the track a carefully coordinated powerbrake to 1500RPM followed by a squeeze of the throttle once the light turns green, with the DTC button pushed once will get you off the line with the best 60' time.

There are many AT drivers here with more dragstrip passes than me, so hopefully they will reply.

I typically turn the traction control off completely? I have not tried to launch with the DTC on. I will try and post the results.

For manual - I bounce the revs between 2200-2700 rpms to keep the turbo's spinning the slightest bit. at the 2nd yellow I start to feather the clutch the slightest bit then let it go....but don't dump it. Feed on the power just enough to keep from lighting the tires up. I can't go full throttle in 1st or they will spin too much. I take the DTC totally off, it resulted in my best times over and over that way.

I found that if I launched at too low an RPM it would bog and I would floor it to try and get the car going. At that point the turbo's would finally spool completely and that would result in wheel spin.

Its a fine line w/ a rear wheel drive turbo car w/ a manual tranny.

its about 35* F here. these RFT like temps above 50*F at least.

try DTC and power brake up to about 1500rpm max. see what happens. it was about 43*F one day and i tryed a 1200RPM power brake with dtc pressed once, the launch was very sucessful.

The temp. is low 40's F.
It actually snowed here today so i will have to wait to try with the DTC on.
Do you have any timed/logged 0 - 60 times?
