-=N55 BMS Stage 2=- Beta Initial thoughts + Install pictures
I just got back from a 20 mile drive and I am very excited to see this product hit the market the throttle response and turbo spool up time is instant! Daily driving as a whole is incredible now and smoother than factory.
Install: Its extremely easy and it took about 30 min to complete I will update the thread with close up pictures on all the parts installed. Boost reading on the gas gauge is reading perfect at about 13 psi right now holding almost to shift point. Flipping through maps could not be any easier and took me a whole 5 seconds to go from map 1 to map 2 while driving. Now on to the good stuff Just yesterday I was running 15-16 psi today I'm running 13 psi on the stage 2. I did a little 60-140 and stage 2 felt so strong through out the 3rd to 4th shift where usually it felt like it fell off of boost a little and lagged it now just pulls right on through like a train. There is no doubt in my mind that it is faster. You guys are going to love it ! As I try new maps and higher octane I will update. No eta just yet but I can assure you they are building the stage 2 boards as fast as possible.
Current stage 1 owners will get the first wave of units. If you have not purchased a stage 1 unit yet make sure you do so. |

I'm also running this on my 2012 135i and I love it! It's nice to be able to switch maps so easily and set up my gauges how I want. My turbo also seems to be a little more audible now which I thought was weird. Maybe because it's spooling earlier?

Went to a crappy 1/8 mile track tonight there were about 4 tuned n54's there beat every single one of them. One was a 6mt jb4 intake exhaust dp fmic intake and 110 oct,335is procede ,rest where Jb4 only.
Car ran 100% like I dreamed it would especially with maxcool mode that was extremely useful. Car ran an 8.6 with the worst traction issues I have ever seen on a track. The n55 sure did surprise every one there. Last edited by Andrew@ET; 07-30-2011 at 12:34 AM.. |
