Custom N52 Intake with MAF Mount

Hello all,

I just wanted to post this to share my very custom solution to a higher flow intake. I used a few spare parts I had laying around the house to put this together and a flange I found made by a company called Performance MRP. I plan on getting some new parts to use in the final product, but I don't think this came out too bad. I'm not sure how useful it will be, but it frees up a lot of space in the engine bay, and it seems to be getting the IATs in a good spot and the MAF is showing some decent gains in flow rate. I don't have solid numbers yet, but if there's enough interest I can see what data I can gather.

I was looking online for a bolt-on solution but thought the prices were outrageous. After putting this together (the hardest part of which was finding the right way to adhere the flange to the tube) my opinion hasn't changed. I think this is a great solution, as I see a lot of people just leaving the MAF unplugged when they do these modifications.

I'd love to hear some thoughts and feedback, but please keep it respectful.

Link to the MAF flange if you're interested.

Honestly I didn't take any measurements with the stock air box, so I don't really know the answer to this. Do you know what they usually are? Maybe we can do a comparison.

Its the one that was on the car when I bought it two years ago 😭. It still works, but getting an OEM one is part of the list for the final product.

You can use a maf coupler and actually put a cone intake in the stock box. A few guys did it years ago.
