Question about the oil level sensor...

Does the oil level ever show higher than this?

The last 2 oil changes I’ve added 7 quarts and the oil shows that level after fill. Also when I get the “+1qt” and add the quart it also goes to that level.

I’m trying to keep track of oil usage and wondering if that level I show above is 6 3/4qts or 7qts in the pan?

Yeah that's how it should be. It's not 100% accurate to the milliliter. When I put 7 qts I get that ammount to.

If you over fill it, it will show higher and give you error message that the car is over filled.

Regarding adding oil: Car is not going to ask you to add oil unless you are 1 qt down, so adding 1qt would bring it up to correct level - and it will once again show it like what you have in the picture.

That gage only shows the last quart. You're fine, just fill it when it tells you (1qt).
