I miss my E46s; but they were made with poor materials/paint. My E39 takes the show by a long shot however. Nothing like a 6-speed N/A V8!

I have a Modded E90 335i 6mt, turbo miata 6spd and a turbo auto Volvo Wagon. All do their purpose perfectly (summer daily, summer/track toy and winter daily).
That being the Miata (and our other 2 Miatas) make me smile every time I get in and reminds me why I bought it even a decade later. It would be the last one I would get rid of. BUT its useless in rain let alone snow, and annoying to daily drive. Though the bmw is also so much fun to drive; the miata is a whole different experience. |

Yes by far! 2006 e90 325i, 2008 e70 X5 3.0si, and 2014 f10 535i. The e90 drives the most like a BMW should and has held up well at 225,000 miles!

Although I do like my JCW Mini the e92 is my favorite. Our other two cars are boring transportation appliances. I’m driving the BMW every chance I can.

I've thought about selling the 335 and going Miata but I just can't do it, maybe some day when I can have two fun cars

I agree lol although insurance and driveway/garage space is a limiting factor, but it's sweet to have different vehicles. I want to get a used S class, but be informed on what it might need.

The Cadillac is faster, more comfortable, more practical, and similar on fuel economy.
The BMW has a roof that opens which counts for a lot.

I won't say the E90 is my favourite car to drive however my BMW 3 Series from from previous years (E36 and E46) were fun as heck to drive! I hear the next gen 3 series will bring back the 50/50 weigh distribution and old school E36 handling. Sad thing is they are loading it up with even more driving assisted tech and sport package tech in order to provide what the E30 and E36 use to do from their basic design. *sigh*

Absolute favorite car to drive? No question - my '64 Jaguar E-Type. Between my '01 325i and my '07 335i, I actually prefer the 325i, except for the power of the 335i. The 325 is better-built, no question. The seats are more comfortable. The ZF 5-speed auto in the 325i is LIGHT YEARS BETTER than the absolutely God-awful GM 6-speed auto in the 335i. The ergonomics of the 335i are ATROCIOUS! The Business Audio UI is horrendous, as is the information UI in the center of the gauge cluster. In terms of style, also no contest. I HATE the styling on the 335i. What a POS that thing is! I LOVE the styling on the 325i - one of the best-looking sedans of all time in my book. And, all this, despite the fact that the 325i is pushing 1/4-million miles, and have no plans to get rid of it until well past 300K, while the 335i has only a bit more than 100K. And, in terms of reliability, I'd not hesitate to jump in either tomorrow for a cross-country drive, but if I'm going to spend that much time in one of them I'd be a lot more comfortable in the 325i, but I would miss the extra ~150HP of the 335i.

Yes and no. I am way too attached to my 3rd gen 4runner. I sometimes wish I could get myself to sell it but I'd never find another as nice. It's a great combo of cars to have though!

haha what a predicament to be in, right? I am the same way although not all BMWs. I have a Lexus LS and my wife's is a GM SUV. When you get down to it all the cars are nice. But 335i is still my favorite, hands down. And it has very little frills....because it's about driving!

The E39 and E46 ZHP are my two favorite BMWs. My friend owns an imola red 330i ZHP 6MT and I've driven it a few times. That and the E39 M5 will always stand out to me. Like you said though, the materials and paint aren't the best.

I even remember when the E46 328ci came out, and drooling. At that stage of my life I was thinking, "I'll never own a BMW...." Look at us today, we're pretty fortunate in the big picture! |
