Black Leather Seat Touch Up Suggestion
My E93 is now 10 years old and it has the black leather seats. As with cars of this age, the front driver seat side bolsters become worn leaving a grayish exposed area. I know there are dyes on the market but I experimented with lower costs options.
First I tried a black Sharpie indelible pen but it left a shiny purple-ish hue. Also I tried Shinola black shoe polish liquid but it also was too shiny and icky looking. Lastly I tried a product that I had used for improving the appearance my tires, Turtle Wax Jet Black Endura Shine Tire Coat available at most auto stores for $5-$6. It works great on the tires so I dribbled a small amount in to the cap and used an artists brush and coated the gray/frayed area twice. It looks great and lasted for more than 6 months. Mikey |
