How was your experience after getting them removed?
Definitely a noticeable difference, gurgles are more noticeable as well it was def worth it

Partially due to a AWD Mustang dyno, not a dynojet machine. The figures will be very conservative

I'm assuming there was no more drone than before though?
I'm at a good state with my BMW PE and catless DP. I'm considering takin' out the secondary cats, but would be worried about drone, raspiness, or losing that quality sound I have.

No more drone but i never had downpipes either, i didnt want to remove the main cats due to emissions purposes, i personally love the way it sounds now and as well as with downpipes they both sound amazing, id just not want the headache for inspection time to get a rejection

I probably missed it but is there a DP in all of this? I'm not sure I'm reading this right, or doing my maths right, but it sounds like you got . . .
  • 3.1%HP / 19.6%TQ increase from the Cobb Aggressive tune, exhaust and panel filter over stock
  • 18.4%HP / 43.1%TQ increase from the protune on top of the Cobb over stock
  • 27.5%HP / 60.0%TQ increase from the FMIC and no-cats over stock

If that's right then the Cobb advertised 18%HP / 26%TQ peak increases for aggressive over stock are way overstated. You are getting the estimated increases with a protune on top.

Cobb did over-state their increase for hp / tq a little bit and no i do not have downpipes, i kept the main cats for emission related purposes here in MA

I think it would vary by the car and type of dyno used. I'm not sure that it would be fair to use this one car and come to an overall conclusion. This guy here baselined at 273whp/ 303wtq. How was there such a huge difference?

Wow, your protune is really rich. That looks to be about 11:1 through most of the power band!

I do not know much about dynos but is this drastic difference really just from climate/dyno differences? I know one was a mustang and the other a dynojet but that guy pushing 375hp/385tq with only a tune/dp/e85 is a little ridiculous compared to OPs numbers right?

It was 485 wtq and yes it is a pretty insane increase! That just shows you how restrictive the stock cats are in this car. And e85 really does make a huge difference, I can tell you that from personal experience

Dynojet is usually 20+% higher than a Mustang. So yes, the dyno makes a huge difference. Dynodynamics in their standard mode are usually pretty close to a mustang, but in shootout mode they are close to a dynojet.

Man I need to get on that DP. I have been running Cobb S1-aggressive with only an Intake and a VRSF CP (considering my stock cracked after a month).

I am just worried if I go FBO too quickly I will get bored or have to end up upgrading my turbo, which was never the plan haha.

These Cobb threads are aggravating to read about considering they will not create one that'll work on my 2013 E92 model..

but congrats on the numbers! Real nice!

Bren is really good especially with bmw's, unfortunately no you wont with DP's thats why i never made the switch...go the cobb route so you can get a protune, a little bit more money but its worth it, if i may ask what dealer / SA recommended you to bren thats pretty funny, most of the dealers ive gone through were anal about mods (norwood / herb chambers)
