What springs did you use? Stock Ohlins or Swift springs?

OP, I'm glad you're happy. I like your drop. I might recommend that you keep an eye on the the oxidation and rust. Mine were only 6 months old when I needed to use stove top cleaner to remove the oxidation. Also, I had to request additional rubber gaskets because I had metal rubbing on metal. I wish they were a little stiffer. They say they are 343 lbs front and 400 lbs rear. (Even softer than stock)
I used to have ST's and besides the adjustability, I'm not sure I actually upgraded when I made the change. I'm still working on the adjustments so I'm hoping I become more satisfied. Where do you have yours set? |

I went from ohlins to KW clubsports and ohlins don't compare to these. Writing review soon. I will say ohlins have comfort and adjustability but vibe with way too soft if springs. I had swift springs in rear also Wich is a must. Be very sure to watch for rust...mine also rusted in under 6 months and car has never been driven in salt/snow.
Hope you enjoy them OP! here is the rust to look for

Swift are much better, there is a product your can use to take off rust. Ohlins suggested oven cleaner.

so you switched Swift springs in the rear and keep the front on stock Ohlins springs.

That what I did when I had them, wouldn't be a bad idea to also switch it front. I may even do a complete switch out with my KW clubsports.

Olhins suggested revalving if you increase the spring rate by over 200 lbs. I guess a couple of guys have had issues when they upgraded to swift. One guy posted he only got one season of moderate tracking with the upgrade. Harold has said the optimal spring rates for our cars are 400 lbs in the front and 800 lbs in the rear. He now sells the kit without springs. My guess is that a lot of guys (including myself) feel the stock kit is too soft.
That's a pretty major increase since these are 343 lbs front and 400 lbs rear with stock springs. If I would have known this before I sold my ST's I may have kept them. |

Try setting them harder as recommended, especialy the rear.
To about 4-6 clicks from full hard. It will help the steering feel a lot. I had 700lbs Ohlins springs and think it isn't needed at all, gone back to the 400! You have to know that it's still a street kit, Clubsports have about double the springrate and matched dampers, different purpose. |

That is way to soft, very comfy perhaps but the front sort of bumpsteers and the car is literally undriveable, at least mine. Do you a favor and try them at 6 clicks from full hard rear and 7 front, takes 10min and feel how precise the car gets. Sure, you'll lose on comfort, but gain in precision. |

I got them from a M3 kit the shop had on their car as they where not available from Öhlins at that moment, but normaly they can be ordered from them, be prepared to pay a crazy amount of money. I was not happy how my car felt, started a thread what I could do to get rid of my sort of bumpsteer. Thought it could have been the balance of springs or swaybars. Pulled the trigger and ordered the 400lbs springs from my local dealer, problem still not solved. I was always running them at 12-13 clicks from hard, then once tried to set them way harder and voila problem solved, car drives way more precise now. I never went back to the 700lbs springs as I don't feel the need right now, it's not soft in the rear. |
