prb in inpa in battery registration

Hi,

i have change my battery for a agm 80ah.
My old battery was a 90ah acid one.
I used ncs expert, edit klasse_batterie with a 80 ah_agm parameter,
Write it in the man file.
Register with tool32, but when i use INPA to read the ibs parameter, i can see 91 ah (so a 90 ah_agm battery) but not a 81 ah.

I do again all the steps, check all, but i can not read the write parameter in inpa (81 ah).
Any idea ?

Thanks for your help

Yes, i have read many post about this.

my problem is that INPA show me an incorrect Intensity (90ah AGM) therefore i have 80ah AGM in Klasse Batterie, and register several times with INPA and tool32.

now i can see my battery register 3 times with the same kilometers in INPA.

I have change my VO battery option too.

so i don't understand why it don't work.

thanks

So were able to change from a flooded cell to AGM without problem?
But the Ah won't change?

When I changed from 90ah to 80ah (both flooded cell so no change in type) it was thru the CAS. I never changed the VO but checking with INPA I'm showing 80ah as I want. Try changing the battery capacity in NCS Expert thru the CAS module.

Did you go back into the CAS and read it to make sure the coding was successful? Did you use the correct profile for coding? When writing the battery to the VO did you delete B090 and add A080 and FA_Write to the CAS and NFRM and then default code the CAS while using expertmode profile? Did you go back and verify the VO had changed after writing the new VO?

Hi,

so i take some times to verify all.

When i go back in cas, i read with ncs expert the FSW_PSW.TRC file. I use NCSdummy ans i can see 80ah_agm. So the coding is ok.
About the VO, i delete B080 and add A080. FA_Write to CAS and to FRM.
I have verify the VO, and i can read A080, so the coding is ok.
INPA show me in DDE/IBS part 91 (so 90ah_agm)...
What do you mean about : "and then default code the CAS while using expertmode profile" ?
Thanks

Option 5 for VO coding then default code and re register. Try ISTA D for battery registration.

You VO coded, then coded CAS to default with expert mode, then registered? In that order yes?

My old battery was a 80ah (not AGM)
in the beginning, i coded cas with ncsexpert in expert mode to choose 80ah_agm choice and SG_codieren. After i registered with inpa (i can see the new km change in battery change#2 in inpa IBS field 2). Read with inpa and saw 91ah (so 90ah_agm in place of 80ah_agm). Read cas with ncsexpert and see good coding 80ah_agm. So i tried to register with tool32 and the result remain the same in inpa (91ah) and i can see the new km change to battery change #3.
So after, i have coded the VO in cas with ncsexpert (add -a080 option and remove -b080 option), FA_Write cas and FA_write frm. Register battery with tools32.
Allways the same in inpa (91ah). I have switch off the battery (i think perhaps something in cache :-) ) but always the same.

I understand but again I'll say to you. Before going any further, from your post above this is where you are at.

- VO code car: done
- default code CAS with expert mode: NOT done
- register battery after default code: NOT done

Please try in that order.

Also, what is the histogram showing? After registration it should be 0. Can you check it please.

thanks for the answer.

But normally, it's not necessary to code VO, isn't it ?
In the beginning, when i coded the CAS (Klasse_Batterie) and register the battery, it shall be the right thing and do the good result, no ?
It's just to understand. :-)

Hope this is true as I took the same approach as the VO coding was more involved. Whenever I go into the car with INPA or another scan tool it shows the battery ah I coded in the CAS.

My understanding is if someone re-programs or re-flashes your car, the battery coding will revert back to the VO. I figured it is so easy to change the battery Ah in the CAS I'll sort that out if and when necessary.

It's true that usually it's not necessary. But, if something isn't working why wouldn't you want to rule out coding??? You do this by setting your modules back to their default coding according to the cars VO.

This is the correct way, so why not?

I suggest to you again to try and do as I said. At least if it doesn't work still you have ruled out bad coding as a cause and can look elsewhere as to the problem.

I am really sorry to dig up this old thread, but I have the exact sam issue.
I retrofitted an 80AH AGM battery and it shows up as an 90AH battery in INPA. My previous battery was a normal 80ah acid lead battery.
I am no dummy at coding, and understanding what needs to be done as I coded a lot and flashed a lot with NCS and WinkFP.
I removed B080 in VO/FA and added A080 for the AGM battery and written new VO/FA to the 2 modules. THen i default coded the CAS. the trace file of cas shows that i have 80_agm in car. after that I did a register of battery, both trough tool32 and Inpa.
The information measurements field have reset succesfully after coding, but in Inpa it says 91Ah battery.
somehow it will not show the 80Ah, The car works perfect with no errors bbut I really want to have this okay. I've read a few threads here and there online but none with a solution. So hoping someone could help

Coded agm 80, FSW_PSW.TRC shows the change is done, but Impa shows 91Ah. Read here and there, but I cant find the solution

Doesn't Ista D have a procedure that does the whole battery change for you.
Also wondering if AGM is valid for the early years.
When I have registed my battery in Ista D it asks If I have changed the battery
type some where in the procedure.
Check to see if the BSD line has become unplugged at the battery .
mine was on the first change which fixed the can't register problem.

Why do you say AGM isn't valid for early years? Asking for my 06 330xi. Was hoping to transfer from lead acid. Good thing I caught your post.

Planning on Genuine BMW battery. There was an electrical issue with the car due to previous owner putting in an aftermarket battery. No idea what it was or what battery was used, I just have a statement from BMW dealer about electrical issues and some fixes that were done and replacement with Geniune BMW battery for a pretty penny.

The same for me

AGM 80 good changed in NCS EXPERT / Coding tool,
