Touring/estate every time for me!
We do have 2 dogs, but its very rare that they go in the car, and its also rare that I use the extra space.
However, when I do need it, it is very handy.
The main reason I buy estates is because they can look awesome.
You can't beat the look of a high performance estate

The only reason an M3 isn't on my short list of next cars is because there's no E91. Yes, I know you can convert them, but I only do the real thing!

I came from a late 90s Legacy GTB estate to using the works E91 pool car. I was astounded how small the boot was. It was smaller than my mk4 Golf.
I could be wrong, but my point still stands. Its practical for the sheer size of the loading hole, and the height of the items you can carry, but dont expect it to swallow a washing machine or something.
