Depends on your needs really! I've bought a E90 then I got a puppy, now I wish I've gone for a E91 so the dog don't have to sit on my seat.

So it depends on whether you need the extra space or not? Only you have the answer to that buddy.

Get the estate then. Will be easier to get the pram into.

My kids are 4 and 2 they don't really use the pram anymore, I was just looking to see if anyone else has kids. And what there thoughts were. Say for example if they had a e90 do they wish they had the e91 or vise versa !

Theres a reason most family cars are hatchbacks!

E91 is far more practical.

I have an E90, but we also have an A4 Avant. Wouldnt be without an estate car.

What Dan said...

I had one daughter and when my son was born, I struggled with E90.

Hence bought E91 and throughly enjoyed it. Only way forward was F10 with folding seats and no regrets!

PS: I love E92 and E93s and wife approved getting E93. However you have to be practical when you have little ones.

I'd love a e92/3 but there 3drs so that would be a big no no for me, but I think I've made up my mind. Bin looking at some pictures on this site and I like the look of the saloon e91 lci on perhaps a 11 plate we've got about 10k to spend and it seems that the estates have got more mileage on them so with the saloon I get get one with better mileage.

i have a 3 yr old and a 9mth, ideally I could do with an e91 but I could buy a cheap estate and keep the e90.

As above advice really,

I recently had to use my e92 as familt car whilst infound a car for the mrs, although boot space is adequate and both car seats fit in the back, it was a pain to get the 2 and 4 year old in and out the car

Previously has the e90 and overall was doable as didnt want to lug around in an e91 for most of the time i had the car to myself

e92 with 2 kids is not a headache at all. I've got a 12yr old and a 18mth old.
Its not only about the car but also the baby gear you buy. Iso fix bases that stay in place are a god send and is what makes the e92 doable imo

In my opinion there is no reason to get E90 over E91. Estate will always be more practical (even if you don't need it at the moment), running costs are basically the same and the estate looks better (subjective of course).

Only real difference between the E90 and E91 is if you are constantly cramming the boot full.

Either way I prefer the E91.

I love my E91. But its not the biggest estate space-wise for its wheelbase. If you need max space go for a Skoda Octavia or Ford Mondeo - they are like Tardii (if that is the plural of Tardis) compared to the E91 - Ive used all 3 for diving gear and the E91 requires careful packing compared to the other 2.

Mondeo is 30 cm longer than E91, so no surprise that it's boot is bigger. Octavia is a bit longer as well, but both look nowhere near as good as E91, not to mention their low power engines.
