Ah right, have you fitted yours yet? If its any good let me know as I may have to add them to the ever expanding list lol.

Not yet, but will do soon bud. Just ordered some new rear 295 pss tyres, and have front/rear m3 arms and solid subframe bushes waiting to be installed, but its around £600 labour for the arms and bushes.

Have you had your subframe bushes changed? Just wondering if you knew of a garage that would do them cheaper, but properly obviously?

I have bought another subframe, which I am having shot blast and painted. I will replace the bushes when I do the manual conversion in the winter, as it will all have to come off then anyways. I am going to try most of the work myself, but my local indy are pretty competitively priced. (Steve Rowley BMW).

So, I fitted the new larger cored ally radiator yesterday. I have also finally had the rear H&R anti roll bar fitted too, as I have been meaning to do this for a while but didn't get the chance before I went to the Nurburgring. I also wanted to leave the rear end a little softer for that track so it would be more predictable when the back end snapped out.

I will be giving the car another shake down this weekend coming at bedford, which is a fast track where you can get up to 150mph. This should also give the cooling system a good workout and the brakes! I have also decided to change the front coilovers for Moton units as my mate who runs AST UK has sourced me some ex M3 GTR units which he is fitting this week.

These bad boys also arrived in the post today, so I hope to get this in the car before the next trip to germany! Not sure whether I will be stripping the car fully yet or not. Does anyone know whether the half cage from an E92 M3 will fit in an E91?

I see some Corbeau seats. Nice, weight reduction, a modification that works on every car! (I'm assuming there aren't any speed trial salt flat drivers here )

Whilst tinkering with the car last weekend I noticed one of my front coilovers had a lot of play in it which looked like a full rebuild would be needed. As you can imagine I was not happy as they had only been on the car 5 months and done one trip to the nurburgring and a handful of track days. I contacted a mate who owns an AST and Moton distributor and he offered to build me a set of Moton Clubsport coilovers at a price I couldn't refuse. Whilst doing this he also did a full geo set up and put 70% stiffer front springs which were purely for track. I can't wait to give the car a good shakedown this weekend as the turn in and mid corner stability feels on another level to what it was previously.

Little vid from the track day last week. Car performed faultlessly, still getting a little warm but no where near as bad as before.

Just wanted to say that's an awesome build mate I'll be aiming for something similar, though want to keep it a bit more 'civilised' to be a good dd

Keep up the good work!

Really enjoying the videos. Keep them coming.
Can really see the improvement in the car and your driving (meant as a complement).

Cheers I would eventually like it to be a real weapon, next upgrades are a decent cage install, LSD and manual gearbox. However I need to save lol.

I must admit, its nice being able to push myself and the car in a 'safer' environment. I can now power slide it without panicking lol.

Hey Guys,

Id mentioned I was planning a manual transmission conversion....well I have now started the ball rolling! Picked up my gearbox, diff, prop and pedal box today, I will be ordering my CAE shifter tomorrow. I am sending the diff off to have an LSD fitted, I have decided to go with a Quaife unit as they have some decent reviews and require minimal maintenance. I have also order some new sheeting to make some door cards for the front as the car is going on a full weight saving diet now.

Do you still have your EGR system active? If so your EGR cooler is probably a big contributor to you temperature problems.

Grazy,
Since you are talking doing the gearbox and diff at same time, you may want to look at the final ratio of the gearbox in conjuction with the diff's ratio. There is another thread on switch to manual trans authored by Iaknown. I recall there being a different LSD source that offered a 2.56:1 diff ratio. Our stock ratio is like 2.81:1. Iaknown looked up the ratios of the 330D manual gearbox and it was going to cause the RPMs to run higher if same stock diff ratio is retained. I'm just saying you could optimize to get what you want (sort of). You would only have those two ratios to pick from. Iaknown got his LSD from a different source though as Quaife is only the same 2.81:1 ratio I believe. He has yet another thread talking the LSD he had done and it was a good bit cheaper too. He got his diff from M factory. They cut his ring gear weld, machined and bolted it onto the m factory diff. I just asked him a question on that thread pertinent to this gearing question. So, his thread should be an easy find for you.

one more thing, Is that a 330D gearbox, shifter, and driveshaft?
