Did clearing module codes Brick my FWM?
2011 335i
The other day I replaced my Rail Pressure Sensor on my n55. Didnt disconnect the battery as I didnt see much need to. Finish the install and connect MHD through OBD2 to Reset adaptations and Also clicked Clear Module Codes. After doing this, the CIC displayed Lighting code, windows, blinkers and locks don't work. ISTA showed the FWM was bad along with a bunch of other modules but only the FWM had a stored fault (the others showed unresponsive "JBE AUG, KOMBI") Sorry for the lack of info, but Im trying to understand if the FWM is the main problem or a symptom of a larger issue... or just not disconnecting the battery when installing the rail pressure sensor. Any info to clarify this or your past experiences with FWM's would help. Thx.

The FRM is quite delicate on these cars so who knows. BMW extended the warranty to beyond 100K miles so you may not have to pay out of pocket.

Basically what happened was, I replaced a sensor and cleared codes with MHD, all was fine.
Plugged in Laptop with ISTA and ran a test scan, THAtS what bricked the Footwell module. Found out later the TSB/warranty states the same thing. Bmw replaced for free < 8yr/156,000 mile warranty |
