btw - the dealership fixed my car. Took them about a week - parts were shipped from Germany. I printed out the tsb and handed it over to my service advisor. All is fixed now.

Hi Hnekcivic - if you read the Pdf on the SIB - you will find these on page 3 second post - it list the part numbers needed per your specific vehicle. Type the 2 identified part numbers into the parts search at www.getBMWparts.com. it is very straight forward. The parts can take about 1.5-2 weeks to get to you as they ship from Germany.

go to www.realoem.com type in your VIN and find your fuse box distribution panel part number. you will see a pic of it on the website. Visually check your current vehicle fuse box to make sure it looks correct.

order this part it is the power feed cable that has the defective end connecting to fuse box and must be replaced.

61 12 9 269 907
B+ Repair Cable (E90, E91, E92, E93)

you must replace both of these parts. should run you about $200 total

Dealer had to fix my car as well. Back ordered from Germany.

SA said the cost with parts mark up and labor would have been over $2,500.

I got my $50 CPO repaid and was gifted a little amount for my troubles for use in the parts and accessories catalog.

Moral of the story:

This is a Safety issue just like the HPFP since you can become stranded. Contact BMW NA and complain.
They will help you since this will become the next civil suit! I already started the complaints with them. Just mention the service bulletin number!

For B+ cable 61129269907 , getbmwparts.com i can't find it, isnt the right parts number ?

The issues is actually the back of the fuse box where the cable plugs in both the fuse box side and the B cable side must be replaced in order to repair the full connection.

UPDATE: this morning i pull the fuse box out to see if the B+ cable discoloration, check around the cable connection, it look ok to me, doesnt look like it discoloration, but everytime my car wont start, i just need to touch the cable in able to get power back, TSB said if the cable doesnt discoloration then check volt drop how was your b+ cable when you take it out ?

Mine was not discolored at all hence why the real issue is the connecting piece inside the back of the fuse box. if you touch it and the power comes on then this is the issue and replace both parts. the TSB is not intirely accurate from what i discovered when i fixed mine. the discoloration they mention is very rare in most cases. i bet if you try to disconnect the B= cable from the back of the fuse box, you wont be able to becuase they have shorted and fused together.

took me 1 hr to pull the fuse box out, no space or room to work on it, i can barely pull the fuse out because alot of plug and wire hold the fuse box back. it's still ok to drive the car untill the new parts come right? i hope so lol btw i sent bmw na an email about my car even im out of warranty, the said they will see what they can do haha

I drove my car around like that for 2 weeks before i ordered my parts to make sure it was the problem. as long as everything is still plugged in you should be fine.

well, after i sent that email, bmw na tried to call me, i called back and leave them a voicemail, not sure why they called LOL

That's their normal process. They will call you since it's a priority issue. I had a specific agent help me. Really nice too

I had the exact same problem day before yesterday. Luckily my extended warranty company is paying for it. I read the whole forum can anybody explain why this happens? The mechanic who worked on my car showed me the cable contact totally melted.
