225/245 Pirelli Winter Sottozero Serie II

Hi Guys.

I'm looking for a winter performance tire for cold weather, wet weather and very light snow driving (flurries). I don't plan on driving during snow fall, so I don't want to bother with a snow tire. I'm considering the Pirelli Winter Sottozero Serie II in 225/40R18 for the front and 245/40R18 for the rear. The rear tire is 10mm narrower than my stock M-sport tires but, they should still fit on the wheels (I believe).

Has anyone tried running this tire size combination on their 335s for winter performance driving (not snow driving). I'd just like to get some feedback before I buy.

Thanks.

I know it's not exactly what you were asking but fwiw i just put them on my 328 for the same reasons (winter, mostly non-snow driving) and my initial impressions are positive. I went with the run flats and they are definitely more quiet than my summer Continental run flats. Handling so far in the Oregon rain has been good.

Ok. That's good to know. I won't be going with the run flats, though. I'll just have to confirm the size now.

Thanks.

Go with 225/40/18, 245/35/18. 245/40/18 rear is too tall.

I have the Sottozero tires, yet I'm running 225/40-18 on all four OEM sport package wheels. No snow yet in Detroit, but in the cold weather they are fine so far.
