coil spring part number issue

Maybe someone can help with my question about coil springs...it's been driving me mad!!

I have a 2009 335i sedan, auto, with an M sport suspension. I broke a spring hitting a pothole and had to replace both of them and a tire, anyhoo...

The shop ordered a part number equivalent to 31336767380 (80)

I got it back and its an inch higher than it was. BMW says the part number is 31336767379. (79) and they cant find the part ending in (80)

I have been researching the part numbers for hours - ECS says part number 80 - but other sites say 79.

Car looks ridiculous and the shop is saying its the right part when it's not. I can see the two parts are different springs because the shipping weights are different.

Any idea on why some sites say one number and another site says a different one?

what about realoem.com
maybe you buy them in pairs? also the spring settles after some driving (almost an inch, it happened when I did my coilovers, had to readjust height) and that's maybe why. AND last but not least, have they checked the other spring installed, what's the part number printed on it?

Both springs should fit fine. The -379 is for a lightly-optioned 335i, whereas the -380 is for a heavily optioned auto 335i or 335d. Which one to use is dependent on your vin # but neither should raise your car 1". The difference would be minuscule and probably not visible unless you measured with a ruler.

New springs do take 1-2 months to fully settle. Also, if the dealer replaced the front spring pads and strut mounts when they reinstalled the new springs, that would raise your front end back to factory new ride height. That could explain the ride height change.

Factory new ride height on a 335i auto sport package is about 27" from middle of hub to fender, FWIW.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! And yes new strut mounts and pads. I think the other springs were sagging too so a combination of all factors...thanks again. I really appreciate it.

Not to hijack but didn't feel my question warranted a new thread.

Have a 07 335i with ZSP suspension that I swapped out for Eibach pro kit a few years ago, but looking to go back to my prior setup due to car being too low for these garbage NYC streets.

I was looking at the Dinan springs (because I can't find the old ZSP springs anywhere) which state car is lowered by half a inch in front and zero in the rear. Does anyone know if that is compared to non sport or sport suspension??

Appreciate any help.
