My regulator cable snapped - rest of the assembly looks totally fine. I just want to change the cable. Searched around lots and found cables for E90 but not for E92/E93. Anyone aware of this? Can I buy this cable at the hardware store and make it work? Why does everyone replace the entire regulator assembly and not just the cable? Thanks!

Usually a little plastic end piece (like the white or blue thing in the picture below) of the cable breaks, not the cable itself. If you can find an equivalent replacement for the end piece that may be possible.

However, I would just use Aisin (Toyota) window regulators either from Amazon or Rockauto. Notice the different sleeved cable compared to the factory junk. IMO these are better than the BMW junk.

Saw your other post with that weird looking regulator. Unfortunately the production volume is too low for Aisin to make replacements.

I wonder if suitably sized nuts and washer and maybe cable stake can be used to replace the plastic end piece that usually breaks. I am not sure if that was what happened on yours.

Repair your assembly with this. Takes a bit of fínese but gets the job done.

Ordered a used one from ebay for $100. If that doesn't work, will try to repair it using the e90 kit.
