BMW X1?fuel consumption

Hi all

I own a 2010 BMW x1 18D s drive.

Recently my fuel consumption has increased dramatically. I used to get around 50 mpg and recently I have only been getting 32/33 mpg.

There are no warning lights or check engine lights. The only thing there is an oil service due warning. Could dirty old oil really decrease my fuel econemy that much.

The car only has 18,000 miles on it.
Any suggestions would be great.

Many thanks

Sean
