New Key, is there a better way than paying $280 at the dealer?

I bought my car used and it only came with one key. My wife accidentally took my car key to work this morning in our other car and stranded me at home. This might be the straw that breaks the camel's back--I need to get a spare key.

Is there a cheaper way to have a spare key than spending $280 at the dealer to get one?
