E91 crash

Hey guys , how are u all doing?
On last Saturday I had an unfortunate accident with my e91 ownership after just one month..
While on a mountain in France during a snow storm, I completely lost control and traction of the front wheels and ended up crashing my baby.. I am posting this thread as I completely lost my self and don’t know what to do now.
The car is a BMW E91 325d from 2008 with 219k km and all the extras..
Do you think it’s worth repairing? From a financial perspective it doesn’t seem to be worth it, on the other hand on a emotional perspective it is more than worth it. Help pls

Looks rough. But not really.
As long as the area where the door hinges sit isn’t crushed, the subframe mounting points aren’t twisted and the driver shock tower not damaged, then it would be fixable.

Also, do you not have airbags?

Here in germany too, it’s just more expensive. I ll have an indie to have a look and give me a budget for hand work, the parts I would order them myself. Hopefully he won’t ask me a kidney for the hand work

So long as the chassis is straight, you probably can repair it. But, why not buy another and use this as a donor for any parts you might want to keep?

US Spec car? Never mind just noticed the D for diesel. Are you an American stationed abroad? I would say just have USAA pay it out for a German Spec one unfortunately when you PCS back it would not meet the 20/25 rule.

Heartbreaking... I think it depends on if it gets totaled or not. Definitely fixable if the chassis is straight but I wouldn't go through the trouble it gets totaled. just take the insurance money and get another.

I am curious. Is auto insurance mandated in Europe? It is really only beneficial in cases like this. I have paid over 15 k for insurance and have never received a penny back. It is a scam!!

I want to buy a new m5 comp and total it just to get back at them.

Sorry for your loss.

Personally I would buy another one and if there's anything better on yours, swap the parts over

Yea I ll ask for a budget and we’ll see. I already invested some € in parts but yea that’s just how it is. We’ll see what the indie guys tells me. Fucking love the car, it’s killing me letting her die like this. Using it as a donor is not a good idea at all.

Of course dude. Insurance is mandatory in Europe. U have three types. Third party coverage( mandatory) , half coverage, full coverage.
If u get in an accident like me and u only have third party coverage the insurance won’t pay shit. But if u have full coverage they’ll pay the repairs , or give u the money of the car if it’s totaled. So yea u are saying that it is a scam cause u never got unlucky, cause if u did u would be more than happy to have some1 to cover the damage for u. Just ask ur insurance to lower ur % or exchange insurance company

So sorry man! Snow tires on that e91?

From the pictures, I see two doors and a fender that are damaged. Likely front suspension damages too huh? What's the front end looking like?

Yup, I had snow tires. By front end you mean the bumper? If that’s the case, it’s in good shape. No damages headlights etc. Was just the left side. Yea suspension fender doors, and probably steering control arms.
