Vishnu V4 Autotune Dynos? The newest software?
What kind of #'s is this thing putting down with the NEWEST firmware?
I just bought one on the group buy.. just wanted to see what kind of power this thing is putting down. Preferably with no mods just the chip.

its gonna depend mainly on your mods, octane, altitude etc...
but you can expect 50-100whp Thats about as safe/accurate of an answer you'll get to your specific question

I was 267 whp stock with AFE filter, 317 whp at 13.5 lbs autotuned after heatsoak on 92 pump gas. An HPF intercooler added right afterwards brought that up to 352 whp. Thos was upper 80's ambient temp. And that was on 7-14 maps with an A/T when there was still a ton of boost taper. I'd love to see what it dynos at now!

That is what caught my attention...what?!?! 35+whp with just the intercooler, or did something else change? That would be the probably the second best dollar for dollar mod right after a tune.

Remember with autotuning aggression target has a lot to do with gains. A user with low aggression target will see much higher hp increases with a large temp drop. A JB3 will be more powerful at the wheels with higher risk on knock. The procede howler will be more conservative if the aggression is low. So remember this is not a completely valid whp gain across all tunes or even settings.

I have some dynos on Australian dynos for the latest stuff on a stage 2.5 135I 6AT. Unfortunately our dynos in Australia are calibrated to read lower (this is a fact... just ask dyno dynamics who sell to Australia and USA and have calibrated dynos sold to USA to read higher to be closer to other USA dyno readings). Also, we read in kW, and not hp. The car has:
* Procede V4 latest * Decat pipes * Exhaust * DCI * Meth The dyno can be found in this thread from the Australian forum: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=423987 The results were: * valet mode - 199kW (267hp) ATW (so this is like stock tune but with exhaust/DCI so higher than stock readings) * Map 1 (no meth) - 239kW (321hp) ATW (13.5psi with stage 2 mods) * Map 2/Meth - 279kW (375hp) ATW (15.5psi) For reference, 40kW is about 54hp. Typically, a stock standard car on this dyno would be around 180kW ATW (which is around 241hp ATW.. which is lower than USA dynos). So we have gained about 135hp ATW over a stock car with all mods with meth, and about 80hp ATW without the meth. This is with Autotune on set to defaults and power was still rising with the meth with consecutive runs. I was pretty damn impressed with the results of the meth. This is one of the highest dyno results ever achieved in Australia, and the car has stock intercooler, and only relatively simple boltons. The owner was very happy even before it hit the dyno, as the car really picked up when the meth was fitted. Adrian |

I have FMIC, Dinan CAI, catted AR DPs and stock exhaust. You making me want meth now. But my car is already fast enough for a daily driver. Would BMW Perf exhaust add anything? Get one of the after market exhausts or is meth ok? I am looking for cheapest route with most gains. I am however more than happy with what I have now. Already very powerful.

Arent the turbos going to get punished by the restrictive exhaust? I have already upgraded the other stuff, just wondering what is the safest route for cheap at this point, meth vs exhaust and maybe future meth. BTW is it true meth will have good effects preventing carbon build up?

I dyno'd on the 6-16 Autotune maps...I think the new ones have a bit more top-end all, but especially for the ATs!
Procede Intercooler Downpipes Charge pipe/BOV AMS exhaust DCI 100 Octane The car had a few 3rd gear pulls to get some Autotuning in. However each run still showed it getting more aggressive. The coolest thing is that I started on the default Map 2, and After a few pulls it had autotuned itself to 18.5psi, and kept climing throughout the runs. 422 whp 469 wtq |

so 16 psi meth vs 16 psi non-meth there would be some gain? I though boost is boost regardless of how it was achieved? Anyway once I really understand the pros and cons and risks involved, looks like it might be my next mod. But only if I am going to really have usable power out of it at a max 16 psi. Not really wanting to go any higher than that on my car.

Meth give more power at the same boost. It cools the charge through evaporation meaning more oxygen density, and it increases the octane meaning more ignition timing. Both together would give 30-40hp at the same boost. Then the higher octane means you can run more boost which means even more boost as in this case with an extra 50-60hp.

Since I already have a Dinan CAI, and FMIC, would I expect this to cool that much further and show reasonable gains at say 15psi? Also in cold season, its already cold out, would expect to see anything unless it was hot out? such as summer months?

Meth will cool it down regardless of the starting temp... it will take about the same temp off. So with a great FMIC, you could potentially get intake temps well below the atmospheric temperature, which you cannot achieve with the best FMIC in the world.
