Scenic/Fun Drives in Norcal

I was wondering if you guys knew any fun or scenic spots to drive around Norcal. My friends all tell me to take the hwy 9 run into skyline... I was going to take hwy 17 into Santa Cruz and cruise around the beachfront to take pics...

Skyline's cool but full of turns and bikers. I would suggest hitting HW1 down from Santa Cruz and work ur way up north pass the Golden Gate to Napa then Santa Rosa if time permitted.

If you want to start further north as well, you could take Woodside Road (Hwy 84) off 280, and follow that till you hit the 1. There's also bikers on woodside road, with the usual twisties, and once you hit hwy 1, it's a nice scenic view from there.

yea, if you want scenic views, i'd start off at hwy 1 @ hwy 92, and start heading south past monterey. should get to see a lot of the nice coast line.

some fun roads are hwy 35 (skyline) and hwy 9. as said, just be careful of the motorcycles and bicycles on the road, as well as the po's.

I've heard the road by UC Santa Cruz called Empire grade(?) is pretty twisty, scary, and dark.

If you just want good fun then hit up highway 9. If you want scenic then go with highway 1. Dude if you're gonna go on highway 9 though, hit me up cus I go up there all the time.
