Frankoq, I think those screws on the anchors just hold the anchors in the carpet, but I might be wrong. Im just reading what the instructions he posted say.

The screws came attached to the front mats.

I got mine from ebay $75 shipped or something... I don't know if I want the front driver's side though... Ordered the carpeted rubber mat to see which I like best.

I should have read that... doh.
so, the screw part goes into the carpet of the car.
I'm sending a couple of those images to my dealer to see if they can
get them. If not, I'll just have to improvise something.

I think with that part number they should be able to find the part, meaning the dealer.

Here is the trick, I searched google for mcneil products, and they are the makers of weathertech floor mats. So im sure if you call them with that product number, they can be purchased. If my vendor cant help me, I might just call them

So there are no holes on the floor of the car to screw these.

so it seems they just screw into the carpet on the floor?

I'll put them on today.

I have to ask, where should I go to get quality floormats? I am coming to the US in a week and can actually go to a parts store and get some of the stuff I want. What I don't want is to have happen to my BMW as happened in my Jeep. I bought floormats that literally put holes in my carpet fromt he retention nipples underneath. Although I hate to spend the money, is the dealer the place to go? Thanks,

I'm having second thoughts about making holes to the floor carpet.

Franko, in my case, I would rather have tiny holes which you probably wont be able to see, then having my mats keeping moving up and into the pedals. Its annoying.

When I pulled up the standard mats, there were already velcro holders that screwed into the carpet, so you probably already have holes. The weather mat holes did not line up so now I have more holes. The holes close up very well. I don't think it is a big deal.

the patches are on either side of the BMW only for the front though in the rear there is nothing they fit snug and work well and they trap a lot of dust and debris as well!!!! plus look way better in real life than in this photo!!! mine came out of the bag with the patches attached already and my dealer installed my other floor mats cause you know the dealer has to buy them for the 3 series...the 5's and 7's come included....but dealers just usually pick up the tab..so both the oem carpet ones and these rubber go the same way...i would imagine your do also...and for the record these are soft thick rubber even though they looks firm..
I have these mats. nd the velcro doesnt stick, it never did, so my mat moves up to the foot rest.

I totally agree with that.
For a year, I've been frustrated with this.
My old Celica had that "holder" for the mats. But the holder had a snap on
hole on the floor of the car. So you just snapped it on and then put the mats
on top. when washing/cleaning, I just snapped off the "holder" and all was good.

Now with the bimmer, you have to screw on the "holder".
but, correct me if I'm wrong, it seems the screw just goes into the floor carpet
of the car. it seems with enough force, these could come off?

Last weekend, I met with other 3 owners and saw one of them had the same mats and the "holders". I took a close look and saw that the "holders" were just sitting and not screwed to the floor. I just lifted the mat and up it went.
I also saw that he had about 3 holes on the floor.
I asked about that and he said that the holders always come off even after screwing them.

Have you guys had yours long enough to notice this?

Anyway, I'm going to put them on because I can't stand to fix the mats
every time i drive the car. I just hope they hold up.

Well I got mine today. Took a whole 3 minutes to put them in.
Just cut the tiny holes out on the all weather mats, mount the anchors on the mats, place them in the car, mark where they go in the carpet, then just screw them in where you marked.
One of mine would not screw in, so I just used a drywall screw to start the hole in the carpet, then screwed the anchor in.
Now my mats are held firmly in place. What a simple little thing, yet it makes me happy!

Frankoq, as for what you brought up in your post, about the anchors coming off. I dont think they will come off if you securely screw them all the way in and they are tight. You actually have to pierce the carpet bottom for them to screw in properly. Mine are on there pretty firmly, but I will keep you posted if they do happen to come off.

Thanks for the info.

I just got the set of 4 all weather mats. Very nice. I put them right on top of the carpet mats...they stay put without the anchors, which I also received.

I don't see what all the fuss is about, good thing to have.

automatic transmission?
I have a MT and the mat just moves towards the pedals all the time.
Every day, I have to adjust the mat before I drive.
To me, these anchors will be a big help... if they stay in place once installed.
